Title: Is LYSBLINK SEAWAYS being Broken?
Post by: Dave Forbes on April 23, 2015, 08:13:14 AM
On February 17th 2015 , the DFDS Cargo Ship 'Lysblink Seaways' (IMO 9197313) ran aground near to Ardnamurchan Point in western Scotland. After a week , she floated herself with the help of a high Spring tide.

Towed to Greenock and drydocking for inspection. After some weeks in dry dock , she was released under tow and taken the short distance over the River Clyde to Rosneath Jetty on the Gare Loch and laid up. There has been much speculation that she has been deemed 'Uneconomical to Repair' and could be Scrapped very soon?

Hi Dave,

I've read somewhere (can't remember where) that she was declared a constructive total loss and will be broken up.

Cheers,
Jens
