Anyone who can tell me if CEC Courage change owner?? Saw the vessel in Drammen today; new name "FANJA". Didn't have the camera at hand.
The vessel changed name yesterday.

Just saw on Norwegian news that the cargovessel "Victus" (I think that was the name) had crashed with a house!!! somewhere in Netherlands. Det captian had apparantly fallen asleep on the bridge. Anyone who can confirm??

An Apex Marine bulker has rescued 16 survivors at sea after a fire on the 6,000-dwt, 840 lane-metre Transmodal (built 1991) off Brazil, just two years after another ghastly fire and explosion ravaged the same ship.
E-mails from the US-owned bulker the 47,000-dwt Quinn J (built 1987) to its owner Apex Marine in New York show that the bulker rescued 16 survivors from lifeboats and liferafts yesterday following the fire.
After receiving a distress signal at 1550 local time on Sunday, the Apex bulker had arrived and taken all 16 survivors on board by 1820. The rescued seafarers were delivered to pilot boats later that night at the port of Itajai some 50 nautical miles away, according to the e-mails, which TradeWinds has seen.

Almost exactly two years ago, the same ship had to be evacuated and towed to Buenos Aires following a fatal fire.
After a fire and explosion on 9 July 2005, 22 crewmen were rescued by the 2,361-teu MOL Strength (built 1995) rescued and carried to the Brazilian port of Rio Grande, where 14 were hospitalised according to local reports at the time, several with critical third-degree burns.
Survivors of the 2005 casualty were described as looking like photographs of napalming victims because of the severity of their burns.

Jo Tankers, the Bergen-based chemical carrier operator, has signed a deal to carry mineral drinking water from Norway to the US.
The shipowner has reached the agreement with Isbre, the company that has a 99-year lease on a glacial spring in the Hardanger Fjord, reputed to produce the purest water in the world.
The water will be loaded at a purpose-built terminal in the fjord on the Norwegian west coast and discharged into storage tanks at Isbre

An India-flagged bulk carrier grounded in the Suez Canal this weekend briefly disrupting traffic through the waterway.
No damage was reported to the 47,442-dwt ABG Narayana (built 1983) which briefly touched bottom on Sunday morning near Ismailia.

A Navibulgar-owned bulk carrier which grounded off the US coast at the weekend has been successfully re-floated.
Three towing vessels were used to release the 24,100-dwt Koznitsa (built 1984) at high tide at 16:00 local time on Monday about 13 miles east of the entrance to Brunswick Harbour, Georgia.
The ship had grounded on Saturday having left the port of Brunswick after loading a cargo of grain.
The Bulgaria-flagged vessel will remain at anchor until a thorough inspection has been carried out to assess if there has been any damage.
There are no reports of any injuries amongst the ship

A Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCCL) vessel has had to alter its itinerary after turning around to search for a passenger who has apparently fallen overboard.
The 24-year-old unidentified man was last seen by a family member on the balcony of his cabin onboard the 154,400-gt Freedom of the Seas (built 2006) early on Monday morning.
The man was reported missing by his family at 08:30 on Monday and the ship, which had sailed from Miami on Sunday and was destined for Puerto Rico, turned around and retraced its path in an attempt to locate the passenger.
The US Coast Guard (USCG) began an air search on Monday. Reports indicate the USCG believes the man may have been intoxicated when he fell from the ship.
The Bahamas-flagged Freedom of the Seas, which was carrying 4,141 passengers at the time of the incident, is classed by DNV with insurance cover with the UK P&I Club.
In December 384 passengers and crew fell victim to the norovirus onboard the ship during a seven-day Caribbean cruise. In early June around 200 people feel ill onboard RCCL

French shipowner Louis Dreyfus Armateurs has acquired Dutch ocean towage specialist Fairmount Marine for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition follows a two-year joint venture between the companies specializing in the heavylift market called Louis Dreyfus Fairmount.
Fairmount boasts a fleet of five 16,320-bhp tugs built in Japan since 2005 and a sixth 9,200-bhp tug dating from the late 1970s.
The Dutch concern, which started business over 30 years ago, also owns the 50,000-dwt semi-submersible barge Gavea Lifter.
In February this year Louis Dreyfus Fairmount ordered two 32,000-dwt semi-submersible barges for delivery by the middle of next year.
Since early 2005 Fairmount Marine has also been part of One-Allianz, a long distance towage joint venture with Singapore

The search for a man who fell from an Irish Continental Group ferry off the UK coast at the weekend has been called off.
The unidentified man was reported overboard from the 34,031-gt Isle of Inishmore (built 1997) off the coast of Wales at 22:30 on Saturday.
Crew onboard marked the spot at which the man was believed to have gone overboard with a smoke marker and a rescue craft was immediately deployed.
A French naval vessel and one of its helicopters which were in the area joined in the search and rescue operation which was coordinated by Milford Haven Coastguard.
However, no signs of the man were found and the search was called off at 00:30 on Sunday. The matter was handed over to local police and the vessel continued its voyage to Wales.
The Cyprus-flagged Isle of Inishmore was en route to Fishguard from the Irish port of Rosslare when the incident occurred less than 20 miles off St David

Danish ferry owner Mols-Linien is ready to take over routes from newly privatised Scandlines if they are sold.
Mols chairman Anker Christoffersen told the Borsen daily that the new owners of the 50/50-controlled German and Danish state-owned operation have already been approached by the company about selling its Danish services.
The sale of Scandlines to UK fund 3i, German shipping company DSR and German finance group Allianz Capital is expected to close within days at a price of about $1.1bn.

An Eitzen Chemical-operated vessel has been caught up in a possible pollution case in Australia which has seen the crew questioned by local authorities.
The captain and officers of the 44,720-dwt chemical tanker Siteam Anja (built 1996) were interviewed by police in Tasmania on Sunday after a black sludge was found in a nearby waterway, the Australian Associated Press (AAP) reported.

Indonesian state oil company Pertamina has clinched a deal for two aframax newbuildings.
Bosses told reporters in Jakarta that the shipowner will build two 85,000-dwt tankers at Jiangsu Eastern Heavy Industry Co as it seeks to renew its fleet.
The vessels will cost a combined $123m and will reduce Pertamina

Three arrest warrants have reportedly been issued by Greek authorities following the sinking of a Louis Cruises vessel earlier this year.
The captain of the 22,412-gt Sea Diamond (built 1986) has already been charged after the vessel capsized and sank off the Greek island of Santorini in April.
However, now a prosecutor on the Greek island of Naxos has ordered the arrest of the Greek captain and two officials from the vessel

Israeli container line Zim has bought a 20% stake in Antwerp Gateway Terminal from DP World.
Other shareholders include Maersk, Cosco and CMA CGM.
Zim said the move would allow it to strengthen existing services as well as add new lines between northern Europe and the rest of the world. It is not revealing the price it paid.
The terminal is expected to handle 3.5m teu by 2010.
