Trip reports / Somerset Coast - good vantage points?

Hi,
I've just returned from a trip to Cornwall with my powerful new binoculars, intending to do a bit of astronomy and came home with a new hobby. We were in Sennen and I loved spotting ships and found a few Android apps to help with identification.
I live in Somerset with easy access to both North Somerset coast, Bristol Channel and West Dorset/East Devon coastlines. I am thinking more along the lines of around Bristol Channel as I'm sure it's a busy channel with lots of potential.
So, any recommended vantage points? Burnham, Brean, WSM, Clevedon and Portishead are all easy to get to. I guess closer to Portbury or Avonmouth might be a bit like shooting fish in a barrel.
Cheers
