Count me in along with 5 other Montreal area shipspotters. Can't wait to meet the other members who will be there.

Always an enjoyment to watch your outstanding videos, Fred.
Now with the added pleasure to listen to music from the likes of Gustav Holst and J.S. Bach while watching the ships pass by. Pure bliss!!!

Cheers,

Marc

This is CANADIAN RANGER being towed to Aliaga at this time and not ALGONTARIO.

Photographed the tow yesterday morning (June 11) in my area.

Trip reports / Re: Norfolk, Virginia Chesapeake Bay Shipspotting

I go there twice a year and my favorite venue is to board the Victory Rover habour cruise from Town Point in downtown Norfolk. It's a 2-hour cruise along the Elizabeth River to NOB Norfolk and back. Apart from the naval vessels, you can also witness quite a few movements of tugs and merchant ships from close at hand. At this time of year, there are two daily cruises, one at 11am and the other at 2pm. If you're familiar with my postings on this site, you must have seen the numerous pickings from my trips there.
Naturally as mentioned above, the best spot is still the fishing pier at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. as you get to see all movements in and out of Hampton Roads. From early afternoon to evening the sun is on the right side for good shots.

Cheers,

Marc

Agreed as well.
His site is the only reference tool on the net regarding older ships at large and it's continually being updated.

I'm in total admiration with Chris Howell's recent portfolio depicting ships of the Port and Shaw Savill lines. I would like to thank him for sharing his unique collection with our community and to congratulate him for the quality of his scanning work. All of his files are in high resolution and they are HERE on this site!
Being a huge fan of old ships (I have quite a few of them as well in my persnal slide collection), I simply drool over the material that Chris posts here on a regular basis even if it takes me quite a long time to download the stuff into my folders.
His recent digital imagery often borders the spectacular as well. So thank you so much, Mr. Howell, for allowing us to have access to such unique ship images.

Cheers,

Marc Pich
