Paul Bradshaw... great question.  My guess is that dredging operations need to be improved.  Sand is always going to be accumulating and dredging is a proven deterrent for sandbar build up. 8)

Now that the Ever Given is finally free of its snag, it may be a good time for Egypt to get better at dredging the Canal and more frequently.

OK

Photo uploaded OK today at 3:12PST; but, the data download picked up some errant letters..."rn"  for some unknown reason and had to do some editing to get the data description to look alright.

Anyone else having same problem uploading photos today, 11-3-2020?
Tried six times to post a new photo and each time the upload function picked up the details but NOT the ship photo.

Yesterday I posted three  ship photos, Taikoo Brilliance, Morning Cherry,  and  Aquatavesia, but, none of those postings are showing today, 6-18-2020.
Anyone else having the same problem? ???

Big legal issue to be decided regarding which salvage company has the right to cut up Golden Ray where she lies capsized:  https://www.wabe.org/dire-warning-in-ship-salvage-lawsuit-not-repeated-in-court/

Seems that there is a difference of opinion as to the size of salvaged pieces and which is the safest size to cutoff, environmentally speaking.

Sad to say, wildfires everywhere are now the new normal and probably will be every year until we get an effective correction of our ongoing climate change.

May not be a problem for you or for some others; but, if I am going to support this site with a donation, I think a Safe and Secure site is not too much to ask.

Right now, I can get in with an exception from my malware protection; but, no more contributions from me as long as that "NOT Secure" notation appears.
