The more so as I often thought I should go to Rostock and take some photos of her. Then always something interfered and I didn't go. But, so what, she'd still be there next time... Well, sometimes you're waiting too long!:-(

What happened to the Georg Buechner?

Tug Ajaks did a towing speed of app. 4,5 kn, then suddenly changed course southerly with a speed of 9,9 kn

The course direction Klaipeda is abt. 70

Yes, she is apparently now at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. Sad but not at all surprising.

You may be right, by the look of the sudden, abrupt change in course. Can't imagine the Tow line holding out for long during those moves.

You need to look at a higher magnification, Miraflores to see the sequence better.  I've tried a rather amateur interpretation on the attached track:

1 - between 1630 and 1645 AJAKS made a gentle turn to port at 4-4

Putting the two together on the same scale and position.  Looks as if ARKTOWSKI has covered most of the ground now, but will presumably complete a designated area even if GB already identified?

I'd say that was a poor photo-shopped image of the ship sinking.

Thank you Miraflores for providing the correct link to the sinking photo

As others have stated, it appears to be a bad photoshop job.
