I expect this reply will be removed by the "site powers" but I have added PopUpOff to my browser. Addon version for all browsers.
After install, turn it on. As soon as popup or overlay shows for the first time, right click and choose Moderate option. If that Fails try Aggressive. I find moderate is good enough.
I no longer get pop ups or invites etc. The popup flashes momentarily and is gone.

Could it be Shipspotting attracting advertising revenue to fund the site ... however, kept change of T&C's very quiet on this topic. Your photos, your choice to stay or go.

You need to read the latest Terms & Conditions re the site

To promote contributing photographers and increase traffic to the Website, ShipSpotting reserves the right to make available links to submitted photos for other websites or applications (hereafter 3:rd Party) to incorporate as part of their service. Linking to material on the Internet is common and not an issue in itself, but to be clear on how pictures submitted to ShipSpotting.com might be used, this paragraph was created.

Following conditions apply: etc.etc.

I've still had no problems for months... Tried your Kennedy Lake again , on screen within 1 to 2 seconds.  Tried random ship names etc. and all good.
Is it only this site? Have you done an internet/broadband speed check? Is it your computer ..cleared cache etc? Virus /spyware eating up bandwidth?

All instantaneous when I access site. Not had any problems this week whether logged in or just visiting.

Pieter, thank you. We know nothing about Babur eg age, computer facilities etc. Would be a shame to destroy a youngsters (if that is the case) enthusiasm for ships. I do not have a mobile phone and so I asked my 18 year old grandson to take a mobile phone "off vertical" picture and correct by in built software 3 degrees. (Approx 3% /vertical.) Apparently its not that easy.
I started photographing ships within Southampton and London Docks 66 years ago with a Kodak Brownie 127 roll film at 10 years old ... how many of those photos would pass muster now? Very rare, one offs but outside site guidelines.

The latest photo from Babur. http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=3377980.
I assume he reads the comments which applied to http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=3377636
and several others submitted by him. Picture taken at same spot and same horizon tilting. I'm still of the opinion he does not have correcting software/computer. Perhaps admin personal question to him. Is the answer accept and "moor" it into the other nearly 3 million pictures if he can't correct? Mobile phones now appear to be superseding traditional cameras; will this lead to more "wonky" photos generally?
