Good luck, Tomas
Unfortunately I am a little too far away, but you may fall back gladly on my pictures :-)
I wish you all the best!

Kind regards from Switzerland
Marc

Michael Wirth, you speak from my heart!
I have heard a lot about problems with updated ship data, the links to IMO, MMSi, ENI and their tracking. The platform shipspotting.com is ingenious and offers a wide range of possibilities - but only those that are finicky defined, regulated and interpreted...

Maybe some of you know my discussions about " atmospheric pictures "...
Open up - Give special pictures a chance and above all: Focus on the quality!
Michael - I often think the same - how long will the site survive in the status quo?
The development goes gigantic fast!

I have been there - a wonderfil place but not really good for shipsotting - Too far away

I would propose you to drive to Algeciras and take a ferry to Tanger Med or Ceuta - And just to come back with the same ferry. If the weather is good, You will spot a lot of ships - Kind regards Marc

Dear colleagues
Just one little remark from me:
I have never received any e-mail notification that a comment or a message came in for me on shipspotting - I just see it when I have logged in - so the reaction time is maybe limited - Greetings from Switzerland Marc

Help and Advice / Re: MarineTraffic Corrections
« on: December 16, 2018, 11:21:03 AM »
 Hi
just one remark from my side. Marinetraffic has only vessels with MMSI in their database. A vessel had to had once in its live an active AIS transponder working. From this moment the vessel is in the database of MT. As I know, every ships sets is basically data in it's transponder on the vessels AIS unit itself. If there are wrong data, which are sended out all the time, it's maybe diffcult (or impossible) for MT to make any corrections, because the master is the transponder... Could have a legel aspect as well.

This statement is just an assumption, but could be reason, that MT don't make any corrections.

Kind regards
Marc

Thanks Vlad - I changed the name to "RIGEL" - Great!
