Title: VTS in non-uk ports?
Post by: eclaire on July 13, 2017, 02:07:20 PM
Hi, when in Rotterdam I read that the VTS communications are in English, but all the ones I heard were in Dutch. What do they usually use in non UK ports on VTS? thanks

Local language is used for some local vessels (like inland) or between VTS and pilotage service, but generally English language is for all others as according the IMO regulations.

Maybe you were on some inland VTS VHF channel - they use same frequencies...
