Title: Deletion of duplicate photographs
Post by: dirk septer on March 11, 2019, 02:09:44 PM
When a duplicate photo has to be deleted, attention should be paid as to which one of the two will have to go. Today my duplicate photo of the derelict general cargo vessel Niky, IMO 790665 was deleted while the earlier posted one was retained.
The deleted photo contained all the vessel's newly added history details and additional info received from a number of members, while the old one photo had none of this valuable info.
All this is now lost, and we all wasted our time to make the info on Niky as complete as possible.
Pity.... all lost with one click by your webmaster.....

Your guilty webmaster here.
We normally check carefully for exactly that, and I remember reading the comments - but then goofed.
My apologies, Dirk

Any chance of reversing/restoring deletion?

If I could do it, it would have been done already.  My understanding is once deleted is lost.

But I will ask IT whether it is lurking in the server somewhere.  Will certainly try.
