The EMERALD SEA is leaving Vancouver tonight at 1900. I don't yet know her destination, but if I find it, I'll post it here.

thanks lest69 i check the pacific pilotage web site and a piolt has been dispatched for 1900 tonight. i use the pacific pioltage web site for ships coming and going from the port of vancouver and the fraser port on the fraser river. you can see this web site at www.ppa.gc.ca. lest69 do you live in the vancouver area and have seen the EMERALD SEA and when she was the MARESK DEFENDER .

I live in Victoria, but I was lucky enough to see the Maersk Defender every day while she was berthed in Esquimalt earlier this year. I actually got the 1900 time from the PPA site. I'm running an AIS system at home, and picked up the Emerald Sea as it went by. It's destination was listed as the Panama Canal, ETA Jan 7.

Thanks for the information. I wonder where she is going after the canal.

Hi all
Just wondering if there is anything new on the Emerald Sea.
Thanks
Dean

According to this site: http://www.defenderteam.dk/ she is headed to Copenhagen, and is expected in tomorrow.
-
that is good to know she is bound for Copenhagen. i was wondering were she was going to. i looked at the web site that was posted it looked to me a interesting web site of the maresk defender. i wonder if the other cable ships that are based in victoria like the WAVE VENTURE and her sister ship BOLD ENDUERNACE wich are owned by cable&wirles ltd of uk have a web site too. if so i like to see it. i like cable ships they are interesing ships to photograph.

I too was hoping to see her in port here, she is working on a long term well testing contract with PEMEX. I think it's a Mexican company, so I guess she will be in the gulf for a while. Do you think she will get the red stripe? Secunda's other large vessels don't have it.

I think she will get the red stripe eventually. I'm looking forward to seeing her in Secunda's colors.
