Publishing the KARADENIZ POWERSHIP in Sudan.
And very close to these ships I found this:
Above are the KARADENIZ POWERSHIP and there I indicate with a red arrow the place.
If we zoom in we can clearly see a sunken ship or an abandoned vessel

First I give you the location and the link to Google Maps.
Location: 19°22'35.9"N 37°18'55.9"E

Now look how interesting it is if you use Google Earth, using the timeline see what happens.

I had found it years ago, but I researched it and never found out its name.
And now publishing the KARADENIZ POWERSHIP in Sudan, I saw it again and that's why I publish it here.
Does anyone know which is this ship?

This is the SAUDI GOLDEN ARROW, see: https://www.shipspotting.com/photos/1141290
Built 1960 as EUROPAFERGEN, ferry Sweden - Denmark. Laid-up Port Sudan 2004, sunk 2007.

Hello Mafioso,
I think the ship in position 19°22'35.9 "N 037°18'55.9 "E could be AL RASHEED (IMo6404935), former ferry CLANSMAN, built in 1964.

Hello Yvon
Thank you very much for replying, yes that is the ferry boat.
Searching on the web I find this:
https://www.shipsofcalmac.co.uk/ships-1/clansman-(iv)
and at the end it says this:
So the hapless CLANSMAN was re-sold, to Mira Shipping Line Ltd., Malta, and re-named TAMIRA, for a proposed Malta-Gozo run. She left the UK in December 1984 and it was soon reported she had been re-sold, to Euch Zammit & Sons Ltd., also of Malta – who renamed her AL HUSSEIN. In February 1986 she was was sailing in the Gulf of Akaba, and is still believed to be in service although later named AL RASHEED.
* She was last recorded in Lloyd's Register in 1994-95 and in 2002 was lying abandoned off the coast of Sudan - she can still be seen on Google Earth at co-ordinates 19 22' 35.87"N, 37 18' 56.11"E
Text thanks to John MacLeod
For me it is confirmed that it is him:
1964: Clansman
1985: Tamira
1984: Al Hussen
1986: Al Rashheed
(IMO: 6404935)
CONFIRMED?

Hello Mafioso,
Do you have any idea about the name of the wreck in position 27°04'30"N & 035°46'44"E (Red Sea) on Google Earth ?
I have a candidate but a ship sunk during 1969 and I wonder if after so long time the hull could be still visible ... So puzzle.
Thanks by advance.
Regards,
yvon

For me, it's Nantes, then Lacey 2, then ENAI.
I run aground on December 3, 1969 south of the island of Al-Numan.

Hello Mafioso,
Thank you very much for your reply and the very interesting link.
That confirms this wreck is the previous French ship NANTES, wrecked in 1969.
I had some doubt because I was afraid the hull must be more destroy by the sea after so many years.
Now all is clear !
Cheers,
Yvon
-
Hello Yvon
That's right, confirmed it is the NANTES.
There are many shipwrecks in the red sea.
And many can be seen on google maps or google earth and those are the ones that interest me.
I have several that are unknown to me.
We will have to make a topic Shipwrecks in the Red Sea.

Hi @Yvon Perchoc looking for something in Manila, Philippines.
I find this:
Looks like that ship is hanging around the same place since 2018 look:
Location: 14°34'13.4 "N 120°58'02.6 "E
Google Maps:

Looks like a pretty old ferry, anyone know anything?

There is this Norwegian guy in the Philippines who has a whole fleet of these old research vessels which he tries to sell as yachts/conversion opportunities. I wonder if this could be one of his. I am struggling to remember the names of his boats. When I do, I will post here.
Best,
Ralph

This is the one I was thinking of, NORTHERN QUEEN ex-KOYO MARU (IMO 7709253), but I see now that it is not a total match:

Hello Ralph it is not the NORTHERN QUEEN ex-KOYO MARU (IMO 7709253)
The NORTHERN QUEEN is in Cebu Philippines.
here:

Location: 10°19'07.3 "N 123°56'58.3 "E
In Google Maps it says Ouano Wharf in the images you will find this one:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/hPGpuETuf57U6rQZ6 (https://maps.app.goo.gl/hPGpuETuf57U6rQZ6)
In the image of the link is the red boat in the background.
Thank you because I have added this one to my list of possible scrapped or sunk ships.
-
oh ok, good that my info was still useful for you! Your mystery ship look more like a (former?) research or training vessel to me. Many lifeboats so maybe more likely to have been a training vessel.
-
I just remembered this one, KAPITAN FELIX OCA ex-SEIUN MARU: https://www.shipspotting.com/photos/2462912
Looks like a match!
Best,

Yes friend Ralph that must be the boat because it matches everything.
I was struck by the tall yellow smokestack.
Then I followed it on Google earth and since 2015 it is anchored there, I thought it was abandoned.
But it does not continue as a training ship

Thank you very much my friend!

I was looking for ship CAPTAIN UFUK - IMO 6802216
https://www.shipspotting.com/photos/1661274
And I found it and near the CAPTAIN UFUK was this ship that caught my attention and thanks to you Ralph, I know that the ship is the KAPITAN FELIX OCA.

My pleasure, these are nice little puzzles to solve! Looks like she is in a stationary role now, just anchored but continuing as a training ship.
