The Traveline National Dataset provides timetabled ferry sailings https://www.travelinedata.org.uk/traveline-open-data/traveline-national-dataset/ updated daily Monday to Thursday. Unlike for bus services there doesn't seem to be a live API for ferries, so that's what I imagine other apps use.

It's Solent Express, it has a last reported AIS position back in August from the the Ryde terminal.

Perhaps we could introduce the software that is being used at "nok-schiffbilder".  There is no way that you can download any of their published pictures.

Wouldn't do any good I'm afraid. A quick look says all they are doing is including oncontextmenu="return false" to disable the right-click menu. You can circumvent this easily.

If they have other measures in place, which I doubt, they can be overcome if you put your mind to it.

Help and Advice / Re: New To This - Marine Traffic Management & Accuracy

I think Vesselfinder is much better than Marinetraffic for port calls. Vesselfinder gives information about the last 5 port calls whenever they were for free, while MT only gives port calls back 2 days for free.

VF doesn't list vessels currently in port but it does show the last 20 arrivals, last 20 departures and up to 20 expected arrivals.
