The dutch tug WATERSTRAAT arrived at the Svitzer tug moorings at Gravesend today for Thames operations.
-
How lucky can you get?
After a (I assume) bollard pull test (tug of war) with Svitzer Adira at the lower end of Gravesend Reach, I wished that the newly arrived Waterstraat would head up river pass Tilbury, minutes later my wish was granted :-)

Another interesting "rumour" I've heard is that a South American based tug may come to the Thames to cover for the late delivery of the SVITZER MERIDIAN.
The tug SVITZER HAWK has been mentioned, she is currently in Peru.

Thanks for the info Dave.
DELICAY II is now the SVITZER VALE that operated on the Thames for a couple of months before going to Germany
DELICAY III as above, is heading for the Thames still under the name DELICAY III and Turkish flag but is to be renamed SVITZER MERIDIAN

Bob

DELICAY III arrived Cies Anchorage, outside Vigo this morning, probably for shelter.
Another Thames tug, the old faithful KINGSTON ex-SUN XXIV is not far away, at Marin, awaiting weather window to complete tow from Tees to Algeciras with buoy tender WILTON (IMO 8201569), recently sold to Maltese owners.

DELICAY III now north of Channel Islands with ETA Gravesend this Saturday @ 07.00 .... just about getting light then :-(
WATERSTRAAT has now left the Thames and is returning to Delfzijl

DELICAY III arrived in Chatham last night.

Interestingly, SVITZER HAWK is now in the Panama Canal with destination Avonmouth.

The Hawk is the sister to the Svitzer Amazonas, already drydocked so I believe so heading straight to Avonmouth to join the fleet.

I notice that the German tug BUGSIER 10 is moored on the Svitzer berth at Denton today, I wonder if she will be working on the Thames?
