Many thanks for your replies.
None of the bottom three arrows seem to work, only the top right arrow.
To lower the image can use the white bar.
Left to right or right to left have to drag arrow just beyond photo image into the margin to get movement.
Is this just me or does anyone else have this problem ? !!

I do wish there could be far more "Comments" shown,as was the case previously.
Always interesting.

Assume the staff affected are stewards ,stewardesses .Captains ,deck officers, engineers ,deck crew ,chefs, presumably carrying on.
Is this the case?

A crowded Gravesend Promenade around 1950,around high tide, typical Thames procession of ships up & down."Hermes" appeared built 1881,iron hull,1317 GT with timber cargo.
Always great to see old ships, but couldn't get much older than that! Probably best memory.
Soon after badly bitten by a dog that jumped out from behind someones deck chair.I suppose on balance really a best memory though !!

Also in the English Channel interesting to compare the speeds of ships battling against the wind with those with the wind astern.

Is either ship moored or anchored?
Would a pilot have been on board?

So many posts of these millionairs playthings ,just me but cannot summon up any interest in these at all.
To me real interest is in commercial ships, including commercial boats and craft.
Appreciate of interest to many, just my gripe !!
