Capitaine Tasman is ETA Tauranga 2.2 to r/p Capitaine Cook.
Forum Pacific is ETA Tauranga 13.2 to r/p Southern Moana. They are similar vessels but the new vessel was built in 2008 as Kota Rahmat and has capacity for 907 TEU, replacing the 777 TEU 1998 built PIL vessel ex Kota Ratu.

In changes on the Swire Shipping schedules:

Nordpacific is to replace MSC Astrid on the Capricorn Service

The vehicles carrier "Courageous Ace" arrived in Auckland on the morning of 6 February and started discharging cargo. By the afternoon her ramp was up and there was a notification that the vessel was to be fumigated. At 3pm today, 9 February, the ramp was down again and she started reloading the vehicles that had previously been discharged.
Does this mean that the entire shipment had been rejected by MAF and she is haeding back to Japan?
She was also due to load coastal vehicles and call at Tauranga, Wellington, Lyttelton and Nelson.
Anyone in the Port or Shipping industry know what is going on?
She is now down to sail at midday on 10 February. Everything, both second hand and new is going back. Just watching all the new trucks and buses being reloaded......very strange.
-
The Courageous Ace has sailed from Auckland "For Orders" with an ETA of 26 February. She did not reload the large earthmoving equiptment, which is now in the middle of the wharf and covered with black tarpaulins. They are to be fumigated by a biosecurity company.
-
Cali (ex Hanjin California) is replacing Hope Island on the Capricorn Service. She is a sister to Lori (ex Hanjin Florida) also operating on the same service.
-
According to AIS the Courageous Ace is now heading for Brisbane. ???
Just found this online....

It looks like the "Tokyo Car" is the next vehicles carrier to be turned away from Ports of Auckland. She arrived at 7am on 11 February and didn't work that day. This morning they lined up all the coastal vehicles on the wharf ready for loading, but the ramp wasn't lowered. It's now 1.30pm and these vehicles have been placed back where they were taken from. She is now down to sail at 5pm to parts unknown, maybe back to Australia. :'(
-
The AIS for Courageous Ace has now changed from Brisbane to "destination port unknown", so she must not be welcome in Australia either.
AIS is now showing destination as Jakarta.
Marine Traffic now have AIS as back to Brisbane, due 23 February. She must either be going to steam around for a while or anchor, as she is just off the Brisbane coast.
-
Here is the article on the "Tokyo Car".
www.stuff.co.nz/business/farming/agribusiness/101400202/stink-bug-infestation-found-on-a-second-ship-carrying-cars-from-japan
The next vessel "Sepang Express" looks to be also turned away. She arrived 12 February and is awaiting biosecurity clearance. I don't think she will be cleared, as she is due to sail at midday today, not having worked.
This will be the third car carrier to be turned away.
It's confirmed that Sepang Express has been denied permission to unload and will sail at 3.30pm today for ?.
The Sepang Express is now heading for Brisbane.
-
Looks like even another ship has stink bugs onboard this time it is the Glovis Caravel.
https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/farming/101447439/sepang-express-third-ship-found-with-stink-bugs-at-ports-of-auckland
-
Car carrier update:
Courageous Ace is off the Brisbane coast awaiting permission to berth.
Sepang Express is heading to Brisbane from Auckland.
Glovis Caravel is heading to Brisbane from Suva.
Tokyo Car was heading to Noumea from Auckland, but has done a 360 and is heading back to Auckland.
Trans Future 5 has been cleared by MPI and is unloading in Auckland today.

The former coastal tanker Kakariki has just been renamed Kaki in Singapore
-
And now under the Comoros flag..it's next stop I wonder?
-
Chatham Island Shipping's "Southern Tiare" left Napier on 18 February and is heading for Lautoka Fiji. Her next voyage to the Chatham Islands is being undertaken by Norfolk Guardian. Anyone know why this is happening?
-
A few more changes to various schedules have been reported this week
It was earlier reported that Nordpacific would replace MSC Astrid. It now appears Nordpacific will only do one voyage and MSC Astrid will return to the Capricorn Service. Cape Marin is leaving the service and MSC Aditi will take her place
E.R. Calais is another vessel named to be joining the PAD Service. That only leaves one vessel yet to be named.
Kota Lembah will replace Kota Lihat on the ANZEX Service
-
Car carriers may be in port for weeks putting a strain on berthage.
http://autofile.co.nz/port-of-auckland-makes-stink-bugs-priority/
-
E.R. Calais is another vessel named to be joining the PAD Service. That only leaves one vessel yet to be named.
Just after listing E.R. Calais as being a new addition to the PAD Service, she has just been reported as being renamed Bomar Calais,
-
The Southern Tiare has left the Lautoka anchorage and is now heading for Shanghai. Are Chatham Islands Shipping now only going to use the Norfolk Guardian for the freight run to the Chathams?
-
I believe the Southern Tiare is going to Shanghai for a major refit and could take 2-3 months.
ANL Tongala (details unknown) is to replace OOCL Panama on the ANZEX Service
-
Some detective work suggests that the ANL Tongala may be ex Deva (IMO 9278105) - to be confirmed
-
The "Papa Mau" ex Olomana IMO 9141704 is to replace the Imua II on Matson's Cook Island schedule.
-
Article on car carriers Courageous Ace and Glovis Carvel. This must be costing a fortune and costs keep mounting up. Tokyo car has been in Auckland since 20 February. The ramp is lowered, cars are unloaded and the ramp is lifted again. This has been happening since last week. Still alot to be unloaded, departure maybe Thursday, but don't bet on it.
http://autofile.co.nz/affected-pccs-to-return-early-april/
-
After only one voyage, E.R. Los Angeles is to be replaced by ANL Walwa (ex Elise IMO 9317913) on the KIX Service
-
It's hard to keep up with all the changes on the ANZEX/KIX Services
Seasmile (IMO 9632820) is replace the Balthasar Schulte
-
Capitaine Tasman is to replace Southern Trader on the Papeete schedule. The later vessel is heading to Singapore for drydock and return to her owners. Capitaine Tasman will do two voyages under this name before being renamed Southern Trader. Capitaine Cook is due back from drydock at the end of April and will take over the Fiji schedule vacated by Capitaine Tasman.
-
Ten vessels will be in the Auckland Hauraki Gulf anchorage to ride out tropical cyclone Hola during Sunday and Monday. They are Sepang Express, Sofrana Tourville, Capitaine Dampier, Cap Pasado, ANL Warragul, Kota APL, Euphony Ace, Max Schulte, Dream Orchid and Nordpacific.
Make that twelve... they have now added Southern Lily and Harrier Hunter.
A busy anchorage indeed... :D
-
It appears the former coastal tanker Kakariki has been given a reprieve. Renamed Kaki in February, she was reported as being sold for breaking up, but has since been renamed Emirates Star.
-
Maersk Izmir is to replace Olga Maersk on the OC1 Service
Bomar Rossi (IMO 9565338) is another named vessel of MSC's New Kiwi Service
-
MSC are restructuring there South East Asia- Oceania Services

The cruise ship Pacific Jewel sailed from Queens Wharf Auckland at 4pm 3 April. She didn't get far before being turned around and berthed again. She was due to go on a 4 day cruise to Napier so must be something major wrong with the ship.
May have been a medical emergency as she sailed again at 6pm.
-
The MSC Kia Ora is loading at Auckland today and will head to Singapore along with Frisia Aller and Malte Rambow. This will bring to an end MSC's dedicated TransTasman Kiwi service. It is being replaced as mentioned above by two new loops of the Capricorn service.
-
Due to the backlog of vehicle imports at the Port of Auckland, on the 17th and 18th April, there are five car carriers that want to berth at the same wharf. ;D
-
Things are getting worse. The Ports of Auckland website has the car carriers at anchor for more than a week. The Toreador and Hoegh Jeddah are down to be at anchor for ten days. I can't see these two shipping companies agreeing to that. :'(
-
Holcim NZ's cement carrier "Milburn Carrier II" is about to commence her final tour of duty around the traps before heading to pastures new.
As I type, she's en route from Nelson to Lyttelton - arriving this afternoon, after which her schedule reads:
Lyttelton - dep 1730/15
Timaru - arr 0600/16, dep 0730/18
Wellington - arr 0730/19, dep 1730/22
Nelson - arr 0530/23, dep 1730/23
Dunedin - arr 0800/25, dep 2230/25
Lyttelton - arr 1500/26, dep 0930/29, ending a 30-year career on the NZ coast.
Wish she could call at my home port of Onehunga again one last time, but Ports of Auckland put the skids on that prospect sixteen months ago. :-(
As the MC2 sets sail from Lyttelton, at the same time a little further down the coast, "Buffalo" will be embarking on her maiden cargo-carrying voyage from Timaru, destinations Wellington and Lyttelton. Arrives in the capital on April 30.
Cheers,
JR
-
Car carriers in Port at Auckland are Trans Future 5 ETD 18 April approx, and Glovis Caravel ETD 21 April approx.
Vessels at anchor up to 21 April will be Adria Ace, Viking Amber, Trans Future 6, Palmela, Toreador, Hoegh Jeddah and Lake Taupo.
Other vessels are due to arrive after this date.
The Garnet Ace was also due to arrive, but I note she is sailing from Brisbane back to Japan, so maybe all NZ vehicles were offloaded in Brisbane for transhipment on a later vessel.
-
Tilly Russ IMO 9470894 is joining the MSC New Kiwi Express service. Frisia Aller is doing a southbound voyage on this schedule also.
-
Hi all,
An updated final tour of duty schedule for "Milburn Carrier II":
Timaru - sailed 1728/17
Lyttelton - ETA 0700/18, ETD 1730/19
Nelson - ETA 1530/20, ETD 0700/21
Wellington - ETA 1730/21, ETD 0800/25
Dunedin - ETA 1200/26, ETD 0630/27
Lyttelton - ETA 2230/27, ETD 1200/30
Thence to Timaru at this stage, to lay-up pending sale.
Cheers,
JR

ANL are replacing the ANL Barega with the MP The Belichick (IMO: 9289960) on the ANZEX service
Maersk Aras will be making a bunker call into Auckland on the 05 May 2018
-
Hi JR, Napier now added to the Milburn Carrier II's final tour on ANZAC Day, between Wellington and Dunedin calls.
-
The first vessel to use Auckland's new Fergusson Container Terminal north wharf is......car carrier Trans Future 7. She came in with 3 pilots on board for orientation on berthing at the new wharf. Very smooth, no problems.
-
Thanks for the info, Brent.
"Milburn Carrier II" has since reached Dunedin, and sails from there at 0030 on Saturday, arriving at Lyttelton at 1600 same day.
On Tuesday, she departs for Wellington at 1200, arriving there some time on Thursday sporting a new name - "NACC Milburn".
It would appear she's been acquired as a going concern by NovaAlgoma Cement Carriers, about whom more at www.novaalgomacc.com
Currently set to depart on Friday - no times listed for her final arrival in or departure from Wellington.
Cheers,
JR
-
By today, Saturday there will be eight car carriers unloading, or at anchor waiting to unload at Port of Auckland. They are Palmela and Lake Taupo unloading, Brooklands and Trans Future 7 being fumigated in port. At anchor are Dream Jasmine and Toreador. Due today to anchor are Parsifal and Hoegh Jeddah.
-
Apparently MP The Belichick will not be entering service on the ANZEX schedule. She has been replaced by Thuringia IMO 9238765.
-
Hi all,
The now reflagged - Panama - and renamed "NACC Milburn Carrier" won't be leaving Lyttelton until 1200 Thursday, arriving Wellington some time on Friday.

-
The Kweilin and Kwangtung are to join Swire's South East Asia schedule. Kwelin is due Auckland 4th June, transferring from the PNG service.
-
Hi guys,
Whats's up with the Norfolk Guardian? They keep putting her sailing date back, and the POAL site has the notation "CANNOT SAIL without clearance from Maritime NZ".
-
Hi all,
An era in NZ coastal shipping drew to a close today (May 5) with the departure of "Milburn Carrier II" from Wellington at 1400, sailing as "NACC Milburn" for Singapore under the Panamanian flag for new owners NovaAlgoma Cement Carriers.
From 1988 through until now, "Westport", "Golden Bay" and "MC2" were responsible for the vast majority of bulk cement distribution around our coastline. Indeed, the first- and second-mentioned became familiar sights around our shores since 1976 and 1979 respectively.
With "MC2"'s departure today, it means all three vessels have moved onto pastures new in the last twenty months. "Westport" now operates as "Fjordvik" for SMT Shipping, for whom she sails under the Bahamas flag carrying cement from Aalborg, Denmark, to locations around the country as well as further afield to Norway, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Sweden and occasionally to England, Holland and Poland.
"Golden Bay" still operates under that name, but sports the flag of Belize on her transom as she distributes cement to the numerous nations located around the shores of the Adriatic, Aegean, Ionian, Mediterranean and Tyrrhenian Seas.
Their successors on the local scene, "Aotearoa Chief" for Golden Bay Cement, and "Buffalo" for Holcim Cement, have big draughts to fill, make no mistake.
Come to think of it, "MC2"'s departure means that the NZ coastal shipping scene has lost five of its long-time bulk cargo distributors inside the last two years, with oil tankers "Torea" and "Kakariki" also having left these shores for pastures new in that period.
Cheers,
JR

ANL are replacing CPO Savannah with SC Mara IMO 9302578 on the ANZEX schedule. She is due Auckland on 16 June.
-
Apparently the RANGITIRA (ex Jenka) IMO 7022928 is now under the care of the gas torches and being dismantled while still afloat at the port of Timaru.

Maersk are ending their TransTasman service with Seajade and RHL Aurora loading in Tauranga and Auckland for Shekou in China.
The ECNA service is to start calling at Timaru after Port Chalmers starting this month.
-
The cement barge Marsden Bay has been sold for approx NZ$100,000. Don't know who has bought it, but it sails tomorrow for Whangarei to go up on the slip.It will be towed by tug Acheron III.
-
MSC Carla 3 IMO 9124512 is to replace the Spirit of Colombo on the Kiwi Express service after only one voyage of the latter.
-
Apparently Spirit of Colombo detained by authorities at Brisbane for the last week due deficincies so the change probably of necessity
-
Maersk Inverness (imo 9348156) is leaving the Australia/Asia trade and replacing Olivia Maersk on the NZ/ECNA trade. Olivia Maersk will transfer to the Australia/Asia trade.
Also:
Olga Maersk (IMO 9251614) is leaving the Australia/Asia trade and is swapping with Oluf Maersk from the NZ/ECNA trade.
-
Have the containers off Spirit of Colombo been transfered to another MSC vessel headed to Auckland?
-
Vladimir ex Fesco Vladimir IMO 9354533 renamed Capitaine Tasman. Is this a replacement or addition to the fleet?
-
I think Capitaine Tasman is coming in for Capitaine Cook, though change a little way off yet
The experience with Spirit of Colombo which is finally expected in Tauranga in next few days seems to have unnerved MSC and they have decided not to keep sister Spirit of Cape Town on the Kiwi service, her place next trip taken by Northern Decision.
Maersk to blank 9-12 sailings of the Northern Star NZ service from August.
The Baltic Purple due Tauranga soon, would be interested to know if this was originally ordered as one of Seatrades 'colour-class' but not taken up after problems with their Meridian NZ service not working. And now picked up by Baltic Reefers.
-
The Spirit of Colombo is heading from Port Botany to Laem Chabang in Thailand, so she won't be coming to NZ. She is being replaced in the Kiwi Service by MSC Carla 3.
The Baltic Purple is the old NYK Cool vessel Ivory Girl.
-
What are importers/exporters going to do with the Northern Star service suspended/cancelled? There will be no service to Auckland, Wellington or Timaru.
What will they do with vessels from this service?
-
MSC Martina IMO 9060637 is replacing "Cali" on the Kiwi Express Service. She was built in 1993 as Hansa America, and went on to trade as Maersk Hong Kong.
-
Island Chief is leaving Swire's Trans Tasman service and they are going down to a two ship schedule with Kokopo Chief ans Melanesian Chief.
-
OC1 will start calling again Timaru first before Port Chalmers from 17 August SPIRIT OF SYDNEY. Southbound cargo from Europe via Asia will transship at Sydney onto OC1 vessels. Don't know about Nelson and Wellington. Exports from Timaru will go out via OC1 service each Friday and transship depending on destination.
-
Jeppesen Maersk breakdown has delayed her another week (11 days total) and not out of the woods, Spirit of Colombo perhaps not that bad at least she back underway.
-
Kota Lihat IMO 9628324 is replacing Kota APL on the NZS service.
OOCL Kuala Lumpur IMI 9367176 is replacing Pamina on the NZS service.
-
According to Maersk's website, after the end of the Northern Star service there will be NO direct link between Port of Auckland and Tanjung Pelepas/Singapore.
-
Matson's "Papa Mau" is to start a new service connecting Tauranga and Auckland with Nukualofa. She loads on her first trip in Tauranga on 5th August.
-
The Norfolk Guardian will be withdrawn from service after V156 to Norfolk Island in August. She is to be replaced by the Chatham Islands trader "Southern Tiare" until such time as a replacement vessel can be found. I assume this means that the next voyage for Norfolk Guardian will be to the breakers.
-
The new "Capitaine Tasman" IMO 9354533 has been at anchor off Rotterdam since 29 July. Any idea when she is heading to NZ?
-
Understand Capitaine Tasman not due on NZ station until end of year.
ANL Walwa swapping Asia svc with ANL Warragul on west coast USA.
-
Hi Brent, it appears it is now the ANL Warragul that is transferring and not the ANL Tongala.
-
Further to Norfolk Guardian's final voyage to Norfolk Island, she is moving to a layup berh on Captain Cook East. She is awaiting MNZ clearance before she can load. If the defects are bad enough she may not get clearance and it may be straight to scrap. ???
-
Norfolk Guardian V156 has been cancelled and all cargo has been transferred to South Tiare V1 etd Auckland 17 September. The last supplies to Norfolk Island were delivered in July, so hopefully they will not run out. There is no suitable vessel available to do a one off voyage.
-
After only one voyage, ANL are replacing ANL Warragul with Seadream IMO 9632832 on the KIX service.
-
MSC are replacing the Northern Decision with the MSC Rebecca on the Capricorn service
-
ANL are replacing the SC Mara with the Sima Giselle (IMO: 9704661) on the ANZEX Service

Rumour of the Cap Cleveland being replaced by Nordwinter, this would be the replacements 4th name in the New Zealand trade after MOL Winter, Winter D and ANL Barega.
-
Norfolk Guardian IMO 8600856 will leave Auckland on Saturday 8 September for the last time. She is bound for India to be scrapped.
-
An old name will return to the NZ coast this month when " Botany Bay" IMO 9334519 replaces Cap Blanche on the WCNA trade. She was last here in 2011 when she was named ANL Benalla.
-
Norfolk Guardian sailed this morning for Alang in India. :'(
-
Sorry to see Norfolk Guardian go, arguably the last of the coaster types around our coast:

The USA charter Bernhard-S was renamed ALS Jupiter on 5.9.
-
;D ;D Port of Tauranga has the new Princess cruise ship "Majestic Princess" arriving. The arrival schedule states the cargo will be "Wheat/Barley". The passengers are just chaff.
-
Cap Coral is to be replaced by Maersk Garonne IMO 9235579 on the Japan schedule.
-
Spirit of Auckland is to be replaced by Elisabeth-S IMO 9418652 on the ECNA schedule. She is due Auckland 22 October.
-
The Lica Maersk suffered mechanical issues at Lyttelton last Friday and she has remained alongside there since undergoing repairs. Fortuitously, the Cap Blanche had not not yet left the region after being displaced from the US West Coast/Australia so she arrived at Port Chalmers on 19.9 to load the Lica Maersk's cargo, afterwhich will head to Lyttelton to load distressed cargo there as well. Some of the Lyttelton containers were off the Lica Maersk, discharged after being loaded at earlier ports but shipping on the Cap Blanche will ensure they reach Asia a week earlier than if they had waited for the Maersk vessel to be repaired and resume service.
-
The Zhen Hua 25 is on her way to Auckland with 3 new container cranes for the new deep water terminal. Due date 30 September at this stage
-
Here is the ship and the cranes leaving China.

Navios Summer IMO 9308003 is joining Capricorn.
Cape Marin is leaving Kiwi Express.
-
Golden Bay Cements Aotearoa Chief is not keeping up with the demand for cement around the country. The bulk cement carrier "Glory River" IMO 9373606 is due in Auckland on 28 October via Wellington to discharge bulk cement at the Bledisloe Wharf Terminal. The vessel is at present in Vietnam, so I presume this will be Vietnamese cement.
-
Another ad hoc cement caller is the newly converted Kondili ex Cape Knox due at Tauranga late October from Australia.
-
MSC are doing another vessel swap. Gottfried Schulte is moving from Capricorn to Kiwi, and MSC Aditi is moving from Kiwi to Capricorn.
-
Seoul Express IMO 9193305 will replace Northern Dexterity on the WCNA schedule.
-
Capitaine Wallis IMO 9167447, ex Southern Pearl is to join the PDL/Neptune Shipping schedule between Auckland/Tauranga and Fiji. This will bring it to a 3 ship operation along with Capitaine Cook and Capitaine Dampier.
Capitaine Tasman IMO 9354533 is due to replace Capitaine Cook later in the year. She has been anchored off Rotterdam for several months now.
-
With their service realignment to the West Coast USA, Hamburg-sud will no longer be calling direct at Suva but will offer service on the Neptune Pacific vessels Capitaine Cook and Capitaine Dampier, the extra cargo perhaps why the Capitaine Wallis is added. The Seaspan Hamburg is also joining the USA service for Hapag-Lloyd, which sees the Balao and BSL Limassol now removed from the schedule as is Cap Pasado, replaced by Melina swapping services.
On Maersks Southern Star Asia service, The remaining 4,500TEU "L" Maersks will be replaced by the 5,900 TEU sisters Rio de la Plata from December, then Rio Madeira, Rio Negro and finally Rio Bravo in mid Januray, joining the previously mentioned Rio de Janeiro.
-
CMA CGM Amber is to replace Seaspan Dalian on the ANZEX Servioe
-
Grasmere Maersk is to replace the Nordwinter on the Japan Service
-
Venetia IMO 9400203 ex Valparaiso Express is to replace Galacia D on Cosco's CNS schedule.
-
I hear that Maersk are making a few changes ref NZ and Australia. In future all NZ services will be run and controlled from Sydney. Also the Nthn and Sthn Star services will be "rationalized".
Anyone heard this, and just what will it mean.
-
Morning Mike, after initially blanking Northern Star sailings for about 8 weeks from July, it was extended to the end of the year and now Maersk have decided there will be just the one loop based on the Southern Star string to which Napier was added. Auckland was one that will now miss out, along with Wellington and Nelson, while Timaru has become part of the USA OC1 service - the Maersk / Port Tauranga / Kotahi being the saviour for that port.So now Southern STar is being re-tonnaged from the 3,800 TEU "L" Maersk's (although they probably rated now to over 4,000 TEU) to the 16 meter longer and 8 meter wider Hamburg-Sud Rio's of 5,900 TEU. Maersk will check again when the export season gets underway if these are sufficient enough. Currently the service is calling Napier first as the draft on the bigger ships is not as significant for the Napier call as it is after having taken on a big dairy cargo at Tauranga and calls afterwards, but this will change back in a few weeks. Also the OC1 service will now call Auckland before Tauranga on the northbound leg to USA, and I think will be th eonly Maersks ervice calling Auckland.
Cheers
Brent
-
Capitaine Wallis will work at Fergusson Container Terminal as she is on charter to Pacifica Shipping to assist Spirit of Canterbury with a backlog of coastal cargo.
She will start her Fiji schedule on 22 November.
-
Yes the reason for that Stephen is that Pacifica have lost one complete voyage and look like losing a second due to delays at Ferguson. The place is a complete shambles due to automation installation hindering work and staff burnout due to excessive hours. Not short fix in sight.
-
I see the Lica Maersk is sitting out in the anchorage at Auckland. Arrived there the 3rd and not berthing until the 10th with no destinations showing. All a bit strange. Brent/Stephen, you guys heard anything. Long time for a big ship like that to sit around.
-
Hi Mike
She is on Maersk's Southern Star service. She had major mechanical issues which meant she was in Lyttelton from 15 September until 13 October as V874S/N. She sailed for Wellington on 17 October and then Port Chalmers 21 October, V875N. She has now arrived at anchor at Auckland and Maersk have her berthing 23.00 on 10 November as V876N. She then loads in Tauranga 17 November and heads for Tanjung Pelepas and Singapore. There are no voyages for he after her arrival in Singapore on 4 December.
Cheers
Stephen

MSC are making another swap to their schedule. Capricorn service vessels will now call Napier and Kiwi service vessels will now call Nelson.
-
Grasmere Maersk is no longer coming to the Japan service, but will be replaced by Safmarine Mulanje IMO 9311701. She is due Auckland 21 December.
-
Maybe off topic but I'm wanting to know the current status or fate of the dredger PELICAN IMO 7825514 last reported at Nelson in October 2017. Anyone know? Still alive or scrapped someplace?
Simon
-
She was towed to Australia (Can't remember the port) to be scrapped about 6 months ago. MNZ said she was no longer seaworthy to sail across under her own power.
-
Hi Guys,
What's up with the car carrier "Triumph" IMO 9432892? She was due in Auckland earlier this month, but has been anchored off Brisbane since 1 November.
-
Anyone know when the new addition to Neptune Shipping's fleet is due? She is "Capitaine Tasman" ex Fesco's Vladimir, IMO 9354533. She has been moored in Aalborg Denmark since 28 October. She had been anchored off Rotterdam prior to this, before berthing there early October, presumably to paint the new name on the ship.

If any readers in Australia can give me a steer on the final fate of the dredger PELICAN please? What was the towing tug name from Nelson? Is she already cut up? At what location and date if possible? Any data much appreciated. Thanks.

I'v done some more research about the Pelican. The P.T. Kotor towed her to Australia. She arrived in Nelson on the evening of 14/11/2017 but I can not find a departure date or destination.

The Special Purpose vessel "DN202", IMO 9329772, registered in Port Louis has arrived in Auckland from Batu Ampar in Indonesia. She may be here to assist with dredging work.

We really need a second coastal container vessel. We have just had the Kwangtung loading empty Wilson Cement containers in Lyttelton for Marsden Point. She then loaded 217 full Wilson Cement containers at Marsden Point and is unloading them in Auckland. She will then go out to anchor and the Shengking, which unloaded her Asian cargo and went to anchor will come back in and load the containers and take them to the South Island. The Kwangtung will then come back in again to complete discharge of her Asian cargo.
Really ??? ??? ???

Kota Loceng, ex Kota APL IMO 9628336 is replacing Kota Lestari on the Asian schedule.

Hi Simon
In a NZ Marine News article it stated the dredger Pelican was broken up on the Hastings River after being towed from Nelson. A shame this excellent source of info will soon be lost to us with the winding up of the NZ Ship & Marine Soc.

The "Melanesian Chief" and "Carmen" are both underway off Gt Barrier Island. They have been going around in "triangles". Why do vessels do this rather than going to anchor?
-
Re the dredger PELICAN, from the Birdon Marine Facebook page is the attached photo dated late-November 2018 showing hull of PELICAN still intact at their Port Macquarie, NSW, shipyard but missing all main deck and superstructure. Birdon are quoted on the page in reply to a query as "The plan is to refurbish the vessel at some point in the future." Thanks and acknowledgements to Birdon for this. RESIZED photo down.

OOCL Busan IMO 9329540 is joining the China NZ shipping schedule.

What's happening with the Wilhelmsen vessels? The Carmen is back in Auckland and has been at Captain Cook Wharf since 20 December. She is to move to Jellicoe on 29th to make way for Golden Princess, then Bledisloe on 31st, and then possibly back to Captain Cook on 2 January.
In the mean time Tamesis that arrived in Auckland on 21 December and left on 24 December is now off the Port of Tauranga. The schedule says she may berth in Brisbane on 31 December.

The Capitaine Wallis is due Auckland 3 January is to take up another charter to Pacifica Shipping. Does anyone know how many coastal voyages she will be doing?
-
Port of Auckland now has the Carmen in port until at least 19 January.
Morning Lynn berthed at midday. It is now 5.30pm and the ramp is still not down, but they do have divers inspecting the hull. Heogh Transporter is due tomorrow and will go to anchor for fogging.
-
CMA CGM Coral is to replace Schubert on the ANZEX Service
-
Capitaine Wallis is replacing Southern Tiare on the Auckland to Norfolk Island schedule.
Will she be doing coastal voyages for Pacifica between voyages to Norfolk Island?
-
Morning Lynn is still going around in circles off Great Barrier Island.
-
Cruise ship Sea Princess left Auckland at 6pm last night heading for Brisbane. She got as far as Cape Reinga and turned around, and is now , at 9.15 am the next morning off Matauri Bay heading in the direction of Auckland.
Problem?
At 10.00 am she is heading into the Bay of Islands. Maybe a medical emergency.
She has left the Bay of Islands and has resumed her voyage to Brisbane.
-
Carmen has come in from anchorage to berth at Jellicoe Wharf. She has a departure date of "maybe" 21 January. The Parsifal is still at Bledisloe Wharf, but her ramp has still not come down. She "may" sail at 11pm tonight, but don't hold your breath.
These "stink bugs" are causing alot of headaches for importers and shipping companies.

Car carrier Parsifal left Auckland after discharge on 12 January. She has been off Great Barrier Island and Marine Traffic has her arriving back in Auckland on 19 January. Weird ??? ???
