Shipping News and information / KUZMA MININ (IMO 7721263)
« on: May 16, 2019, 11:55:47 AM »
Following this vessel's incident and subsequent detention at Falmouth earlier this year, does anyone have any recent news or photos of KUZMA MININ?

The vessel was sold at auction by the Admiralty Marshal on 5/4/2019 and, according to AIS as of today remains anchored in Carrick Roads transmitting as KUZMA MININ, Russian flag. However, according to Equasis, the ship has been renamed "Energy Annabelle" under Niue flag. Strangely, Equasis does not list KUZMA MININ in the vessel's name history.

If anyone can shed some light on this apparent (and somewhat dubious) change of name and flag, it would be much appreciated.

Morning,

I'm wondering if anyone can ID the "Orya" which Selim San has posted on his Instagram page today? I don't think its the "Torrid" as someone there has suggested

Shipping News and information / CHAULK TENACITY (IMO 8819732)
« on: October 12, 2015, 11:31:47 AM »
Hi,

Does anyone know the whereabouts of this vessel? Marinetraffic has a position dated July 2015, showing that she's in the Lake Ontario area of Canada, which would be logical given her Canadian ownership. However, other AIS systems claim that she's not moved from Swansea, where she had been for a number of years after a failed conversion and subsequent legal wrangle.

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Claimed will be the largest vessel ever on the Thames, which is probably correct.

German owners have found it particularly tough of late with the collapse of many K.G. funds set up in the boom of 2007-2008 so this kind of consolidation is not unexpected:

Shipping News and information / OSTEND SPIRIT SOLD FOR SCRAP
« on: September 27, 2013, 11:07:01 AM »
Ostend Spirit has been sold to the same Turkish breaker who bought the Pride of Dover. I am reliably informed that there are a number of issues to sort out both in relation to her sale and her preparation for departure from Tilbury, which will *not* be imminent.

Watch this space. ;)

Ostend Spirit (ex Pride of Calais) has apparently returned to Tilbury after completing only a few months of her charter to TEF. I don't know the reason for this but the signs are ominious. One can't help speculating that she will be laid up again, pending sale for eventual demolition
