Shipping News and information / Re: Woolwich Ferry

Anyone know for sure where the scrapyard is at le Havre?
I have an idea that it might be in the Tancarville Canal here (there's a public road opposite):

But I think that the ferries may have been parked in the "Garage de Graville":

Will the latest ais track not help? I believe they are being broken up by Gardet & de Bezenac Recycling

Photo of John burns at the location here

Shipping News and information / Re: Tug- Lord Waverley

I went to look at these two last month David.  Went onboard both as they were due to be sold off very cheaply. I took photos throughout the boats, its more cosmetic and just a mess of how they were badly moored against a concrete wall and knocked about and unloved for 6 years.  They were both locked up and fully working, but do need quite a bit of work thats for sure.   Lord Waverley is actually the one in better nick!  The portside rubbing band of lord devonport is totally hanging off where she has been hitting the wall for years with no fendering, also her wheel is missing after vandals tried to strip her, but other than the wheel she is complete and starts and runs.

The current owner i was told lived abroad and has since paid mooring fees and still owns them and has decided to move them to a new mooring somewhere on the River Medway

Speedwell is towing them today looking at Ais as it says Destination Medway

Im not hopeful that anything will change when they reach there, as they haven't been touched by the owner for 6 years just left laid up and rotting sadly

Good photos,  the owner apparently saved them from scrap or being sold last minute literally in the last week and i heard they were told to be removed from Sandwich to a new location.   Any idea why they are at Ramsgate, are they still there and being slipped?
