Title: Landslides in Columbia Kill 51, Paralyze Main Pacific Port
Post by: Magogman on April 16, 2006, 05:16:10 AM
Landslides triggered by heavy rains have killed an estimated 51 people and paralyzed Columbia's main port on the Pacific Ocean, Buenaventura.  Over 15 landslides between the captial city of Cali and Buenaventura have occurred in the last week, cutting off all land transportation to the port.  Roads to Buenaventura that normally carry over 100 trucks a day remain blocked, paralyzing shipping into and out of Buenaventura.
