Title: Margaretha Green blocks Suez Canal
Post by: Timsen on April 30, 2008, 07:44:00 AM
The general cargo m/v "Margaretha Green" (11894 gt, built 1999) ran aground in the Suez Canal on Apr 29, holding up traffic through the strategic waterway. The vessel was en route to the Red Sea when its engines lost power. More than 33 vessels had been held up as a result and that canal authority tugs are currently at work attempting to refloat the vessel.
