The Capitaine Wallis IMO 9346562 is to be renamed BC San Francisco at Auckland and join Maersks' NZ3 South East Asia service. She will load in Auckland 7 January and Tauranga 9 January before sailing to Singapore.
-
The replacement for Capitaine Wallis, is Kota Ratna IMO 9167447. She is due in Auckland 18 January and will be renamed Capitaine Wallis.
-
Two additions to Maersks' NZ3 service in 2015 are JPO Vela IMO 9406180 and Mediterranean Sea IMO 9348194.
-
The two vessels announced to join "ANL Benalla" on the TransTas service are:
Hansa Augustenburg IMO 9155391 to be renamed "ANL Echuca" and
Noble Acrux IMO 9433066 to be renamed "ANL Euroa"
-
The "small" container vessel "Mekong River" IMO 9378931 has been added to the MSC Capricorn Service. She has a nominal TEU capacity of 1118.
-
The previously mentioned "Mediterranean Sea" IMO 9348194 has been replaced by "Santa Regina" IMO 9293167 on Maersk's NZ3 service.
-
Mediterranean Shipping Company's new KIWI service is set to commence towards the end of February. Ports of call will be Melbourne
-
My suspicion is the Mekong River reported earlier is positioning via Capricorn for this revised service.
-
The previously mentioned sailing of the Mekong River is now being taken by the "Hansa Century" IMO 9124512. which is transferring from the old TransTas service. The Mekong River is no longer on any schedule.
-
Another addition to Maersks' NZ3 service is "Buxhai" IMO 9320398.
-
The Buxhai is currently on her way to China to get a 1200teu section added to her. If this is the case with a capacity of just over 6000teu's she'll be the biggest containrr vessel to call at New Zealand.
-
According to the Maersk schedule she is due to load in Tanjung Pelepas on 24 January and is due Auckland 11 February. She was built in 2005, so seems strange to do that work on a vessel of that age, and I can't see it happening that shorter time.
-

According to Lloyds List Intelligence, she should be in Fremantle at the moment and then her next port is shown as Auckland
-
The "Passat Spring" IMO 9316359 has been added to the MSC Capricorn Service.
-
Re Buxhai @ Stephen.
The vessel will actually not be lengthened with a single section, but widened to improve max intake, stability intake, per-teu consumption, etc.
See more here:
http://www.reederei-nsb.de/en/knowledge/technical-nautical-services/widening-of-panmax-ships/
Apptly, the TC rate Delta between panamaxes and over-panamaxed does (at least in NSBs view) justifiy the investment.
However - given the aformentioned scheudle, it looks like she will perform the NZ roundtrip *before* being converted...
-
Swire Shipping's "Ningpo" is discharging at Auckland's Jellicoe Wharf 22-24 January and then going to anchor until 29 January. She will then berth at Fergusson Container terminal to load. Swire say this is because of a high level of Auckland regional cargo.
She has the same voyage numbers as Spirit of Endurance for her load at Ferguson, so presume she is doing a coastal voyage.
-
The replacement vessel for the coastal carrier Spirit of Independence is due in New Zealand, Marsden Point, on 25 March. She is doing a south bound voyage from Singapore and will also discharge cargo in Tauranga before taking up her coastal schedule. She is named "Spirit of Canterbury"
There is no indication as yet of the former name of the vessel.
-
Bluebridge have purchased a new ferry for the Cook Strait run. She will arrive here in July. Article below:

-
"Mekong River" is back on the MSC SChedule.
MEKONG RIVER Lloyd's Number: 9378931 FC504A load Singapore Mon, 26 Jan Arrive Auckland Fri, 27 Feb 2015
-
Maybe the swap between Mekomg River and Hansa Century will occur at Auckland?
Buxhai off the triple star schedule and looks like BC San Francisco in her place for voyage back to New Zealand. One week 4,500 TEU, the next 1,100 TEU, a bit unbalanced.
-
It looks like the Ningpo is doing several coastal voyages.
The Spirit of Endurance has changed her 28 January export voyage number from 3650 to 0208, (refer Port of Tauranga Terminal Schedule). She doesn't appear on the Tauranga schedules after this date.
Is she also leaving our shores?
-
MSC have released their schedule for the Trans Tasman and Noumea service. They will be utilising, Mekong River. Hohebank and Frisia Aller.
Here is the schedule from Bell Bay to Auckland.
Bell Bay, Australia (AUBEL) to Auckland, New Zealand (NZAKL)

HOHEBANK KW509A Thu, 26 Feb 2015 12 days Tue, 10 Mar 2015
FRISIA ALLER KW511A Thu, 12 Mar 2015 12 days Tue, 24 Mar 2015
-
It appears the "Ningpo" is taking over the "Spirit of Endurance" schedule of Lyttelton-Nelson-Tauranga-Auckland.
The "Spirit of Endurance" will swap to the "Spirit of Independence" schedule of Lyttelton-Auckland-Tauranga-Lyttelton.
The new "Spirit of Canterbury" is due end of March and she will replace "Ningpo".

-
Maersk Bentonville IMO 9313929 is being added to the NZ3 South East Asia schedule. She is replacing Buxhai which is going to be widened to increase her container capacity. (see earlier post)
-
Hansa Coburg IMO 9334820 is joining the ANL/CMA CGM Kix schedule. She will be renamed "ANL Elanora" in Sydney on 11 March.
-
Just noticed that the "Anatoki" has a voyage from Greymouth to the PORT of MANGONUI just south of Cape Reinga.
Anyone know what her cargo would be for this voyage?
-
Interesting........AIS says she is heading for Mangonui, and Fleetmon says Wanganui.??
Problem solved........
It was in fact Wanganui, not Mangonui, where she loaded urea for Lyttelton.
She is then heading to Marsden Point to load cement, again for Lyttelton.
-
Anyone know what is happening with the container ship "Alexandra" IMO 9225407.
She arrived Auckland 9th February from Napier voyage 502N and sailed the next day for Tanjung Pelepas.
She arrived back in Auckland to anchor on 18th February voyage 502A and will be berthing at the container terminal on 22nd voyage 502B. She will then be loading Auckland again 11 March Voyage 515N.
I notice the Safmarine Nokwanda is calling Auckland twice, 18th February, then Tauranga 20th and back to Auckland 23rd.
Maybe she is loading all export cargo from Alexandra voyage 502N?
-
Alexnadra has broken down and AIS has her anchored in the gulf. Attempts to get her going unsuccesful so she is being towed into Auckland on Sunday to discharge, with Safmarine Nokwanda making a seconf call this trip to pick up her load. Alexandra was due to switch to Triple Star to r/p Buxhai so guess that needs to be revised now.
Cheers

-
Alexandra has finally loaded for Singapore and Tanjung Pelepas after a period at anchor off Auckland. She will transfer to the Thailand to Tanzania and Mombasa route . Her replacement is "Hoechst Express" IMO 8902565 . She is presently trading as Kalliopi RC.
-
don't be surprised if the Kalliope R.C doesn't make it out to Aust / NZ as she has been detained in Piraeus with serious technical issues and has already been replaced on short notice by MSC Shannon
-
The southbound voyage of the Hoechst Express (ex Kalliope R.C) due Auckland 20 May has been cancelled. She is now set down to load Tanjung Pelapas on 6 June.
-
Also on the Triple Star service, the next voyage of Maersk Bentonville has been rolled back a week, no mention of a fill-in so possible two blank sailings at time of peak NZ exports.
-
Would anyone be kind enough to identify the Spirit of Canterbury's stack insignia for me? Photo shows what looks like a silver or white seagull in flight on a black basic.
Thanks!
-
Hi Zouki
It is indeed a white seagull. This is the insignia for the New Zealand coastal shipping company. Pacifica Transport Group.
-
Thanks!
By the way - do any of you NZ types know Nigel Kirby? My wife and I were in NZ at the time he was married (1973) and we attended the ceremony - in Dunedin if I remember correctly. Long time and I was curious to know if he's still around.

Does anyone know what the AS Carinthia is doing? She arrived at Tauranga from Tanjung Pelepas and completely discharged her cargo. She is now anchor off the port and is due to call back in on the 23/10 to load for Port Keelung. Seems like a strange voyage, my guess is she is unloading empty containers possibly for some export fruit but could be wrong.
