Shipping News and information / Re: Saudi patrol boats transiting Kiel
« on: March 04, 2017, 03:28:09 AM »
According to Marine Traffic  -  AIS,   her  route forecast is through  NOK ,  the Kiel Canal.  With speed and distance she perhaps is available for shot in the Canal tomorrow, Friday March 3rd.   Marine traffic will give and idea of her position.  I would like to see her deck cargo photographed.
Never - ever trust MarineTraffic Route Forecast function. It just calculates the route from some kind of parametres without taking account the current draught, weather forecasts, is the ship in timetable etc important factors. I suggest not using it.

Example: A similar load (a Finnish warship being transported from Italy for Turku) carried on the deck of a BigLift heavy lift was heading towards Skaw already off Esbjerg, when I clicked MT Route Forecast, and it gave the route via the Kiel Canal as result! I really have no idea why it gave that result even though the vessel was already so far approaching Danish coast.

@miraflores: there are photographers for example in Helsingborg. I just have no idea are they uploading their photos here as I usually don't browse the photos here. Just read this forum from time to time or search some certain ships I need to know are there new photos or not.

Rgds,
Pekka

Just noticed jerem80 is back after somewhat a silent period posting several photos of tugs, fishing boats and private sailing yachts to vesseltracker. And ultimately zack80 continues... Could guess several of them without any permission.

If Vesseltracker administration won't pay much attention - or at all - to those copyright violations being uploaded and several other dubious uploads like the 5 duplicates of the Lego box photo I mentioned, the site may turn into a real dumping ground of shipping/maritime related photos. That would be rather sad in my opinion.

I think that we have a good understanding with ShippingExplorer - hopefully they will not attract similar members again (this was the first that they have been aware of).

@Matte/Pekka - any developments on Vesseltracker yet?
I don't think much will happen there. Besides the "theft80's" I sent them an e-mail about a member who uploaded 5 times the same photo of the Triple-E Lego model box (can you imagine, five times!) but so far no response from their team.

Hi all,
just a coincidence ?!?
Since some days two users upload on vesseltracker.com hundreds of photos:
jerem80 and zack80
The photos they upload can be found by various different posters on marinetraffic, vesselfinder and also here on our website.
I did ask both if they have the right to post all these photos on vesseltracker.com - one of them did not reply at all, from the other guy I got a rather aggressive reply.
Have contacted vesseltracker.com on Sunday showing links to the photos on other web pages but still see new photos by these guys.
Maybe the admins there need some more input.

Best regards,
Malte
Perhaps the thefts have been moved from ShippingExplorer to Vesseltracker under those two accounts? Shelby80, zack80, jerem80 they all have the number 80 on their nicks. I also reported those two to Vesseltracker and also via their news provider Tim S. who told me he had forwarded my complaint to the administration. Let's hope the best.

So, it looks they bought the Wagenborgs in order to replace the older Socol-types.

Shipping News and information / Re: Stadiongracht grounded near Rauma
« on: January 07, 2011, 08:44:37 PM »
The Stadiongracht was towed by PKL tugs Mars and Jupiter safely to Rauma for discharging her cargo on Thursday. Before part of the cargo was lightened to Wijnne Barends Russian flagged cargo vessel Kirsten.

The local press is saying that the vessel will be drydocked somewhere else than in Finland. What have heard is that the location seems not to have decided yet, neither just published yet.

Edit: The final decision was to drydock her at Naantali, Finland.

brgds,
Pekka
