Can't see anything due for Hull that may be going to SA. Possibly they will be transhipped or are they going via P&O ferries to continent?

The ABP website lists movements : http://www.humber.com/Live_Information/Shipping_Movements/

and any vessel identified can be tracked on : http://marinetraffic.com/ais/

Presumably you are dealing with a shipper or agent who is doing this on your behalf. Ask them what ship or shipping line it will be going on, including any transhipment. With the right information it will be possible to track using the sites provided by Patrick.

You should receive from your shipping agent a Bill of Lading which will show the vessels name then track it on marine traffic as suggested.

Most South African shipment are via Rotterdam or in the UK Tilbury.

Your furniture is probably going in a container to South Africa as part of a 'groupage' consignment(ie sharing a container with other LCL [less than container load] consignments also bound for SA). While it may have been 'stuffed' in the box at Hull and sent on a feeder ship to Rotterdam, it was might also have been sent in a truck, by ferry to the Dutch port and put in a groupage box there. Your shipping agent, haulier or removals firm should be able to help you to track your consignment.
