SMALLWOOD (as renamed) and CARIBO passing south of Crete tonight.  ETA Port Said 20/9 2000UTC.

Is "CARIBO" also a renaming, or just an AIS data-entry error?

i did read awhile ago that if the ship perform well crossing the atlantic they may keep them in service, but it not they will be scraped. i surely hope they don't get scraped, hoping someone will post some pics when they arrived or sometime in the near future

We made a weeks vacation trip from Portland, Maine to Newfoundland and Labrador in 2007 and returned from Port aux Basques, Newfoundland on the Caribou.  It's a great place for camping, hiking and exploring.  This is our image set with a few boat images. https://picasaweb.google.com/112677044639572174867/NewfoundlandVacationJuly2007?authkey=Gv1sRgCMv7zIvlr9HHjAE#

Yep I saw that and the Smallwood was on AIS last night too. It was behind the Caribo. But now she is gone off AIS again .
