I am in the first stages of writing for a publication a small article about the growing shipspotting activity in Canada.

The aim is to promote the public interest for the  neglected marine industry in Canada.

From one of my contact I learned that ship spotting and reporting  was not so long ago a  Canadian Governement organised and financialy supported activity.
Anybody got good sources of information or data on this subject?
A small building and a local resident  near the Quebec Bridge were then official source of informations through the telegraph before telephone .

I also wonders if it is all good to attract visibility in those times of terrorist vigilance?

Your experience and help would be most welcome.
