Notification of Change
« on: December 07, 2010, 10:52:42 AM »
Changes have been made to the way the for Deletion Consideration category is seen, because of the continuing  complaints which have gone on now for several years and also because complaints were received from members that it was embarrassing  to see their photographs put up for deletion in the public domain the category is now only available to the Administrators.

This has also been done for the benefit of the site due to it becoming a bit of a joke with this constant topic and sniping appearing in the Forum on a regular basis, sadly it has only been a very small percentage of the membership that have been involved in this topic, it appears that the vast majority of the membership are content with the way deletions are dealt with but for the sake of maintaining  a site to be proud of it was felt necessary to take this step.

It has to be accepted that  it is needed on a site such as ours to have this policy to delete photographs that do not meet with site standards, happily most members abide by the rules of the site, the aim has always been to have a site of quality ship photographs  and we intend to continue along those lines.

There will be no change to the present system of deletions, if  a photograph is put up for deletion consideration the same rules will apply and the member will be notified in the same way, if it is felt to be unjustified the member will have the right to appeal to the Webmasters as arbitrators and they will discuss it with the member concerned.

There will however be a change to the way photographs are considered for deletion, we have listened to what has been said and from now on will take on board the requests to lighten up so there will be more tolerance shown by the Admins.

Kind regards

Ken

Now that's a positive step forward especially the bit about more tolerance shown.
