Today I made a boattrip in part of the Rotterdam harbor with 11 other spotters.
The trip was organized by Steven Oppeel.

dear Fred, daer Stevo,

thanks both for the superb afternoon
Peter Xylad
I'm far away from the sea to Hamburg I have a longer distance as to Venice or Genova. My favorite is the Suez Canal, Panama Canal and since 2006 also Chinese harbours.

Hi Peter,

Thank you, but it was Steven who organized the whole trip.

Cheers

Fred, after viewing video of shipspotters,i was really suprised you guys weren,t wearing pfd.s or some sort of life jackets. Isn,t there any regulations at rotterdam port or dutch policy in place for this as i,m sure with 1 little swerve someone is going overboard. "BOB".

it does look daft. and dangerous, especially at that speed. I would not go without one :)
I am a ships agent and am not permitted to board a vessel moored in port without one

Hey All,

You both are correct.
I'm sure the next time we all wear a life jacket.

I also work as a ships agent in Antwerp/Rotterdam and I never had to use one (or requested by port / security)
