Delivery schedule for CMA CGM & Maersk 13000teu vessels

Hi,

As announced last week CMA CGM & Maersk Line are to cooperate and launch a new Europe far East service (FAL 5).

In terms of average weekly capacity this will beone of the largest and second only to MSC's SILK service which currently has the largest weekely capacity.

Both lines will operate the service with 10 new 13000teu class vessels which are due for delivery as follows:

Good news Andrew. Just one small correction. The 4th Maersk ship will be named the MAERSK ESSEN, not MAERSK ESSEX.

do you know  when cma cgm 11356 teus vessels will be delivered and if cma cgm takes delivery of  4 x 3600 teus vessels ?

Sorry, I am arriving a bit late on this thread. Having seen the announcement by CMA CGM about the introduction of FAL 5 but being unable to find any info. on the vessels to be utilised, I e mailed CMA CGM but with no response. So it is interesting to see the information posted here. Incidentally, as at 10.06.10 neither Maersk or CMA CGM are including the FAL 5 service in their schedules.

FAL5 is expected to start as of July

The new joint service is announced by Maersk as AE8 effective 1 June.

However, it is only announced on Maersk's "Schedules by Map" and not
on "Schedules by Trade Lane", so the ships deployed are not mentioned yet.

A note from the book keeping department :-)

With 8 E-vessels of 15,000 TEU (nominal 14,770 TEU stated by Maersk, and 15,011 TEU as shown recently by Ebba Maersk) and 2 vessels of 9,000 TEU Maersk Line's AE7 will have a slightly larger average weekly capacity (nominal) than the joint FAL5/AE8.

As far as I recall the figure for MSC SILK's weekly average is around 13,800 TEU?

The Fal 5 is 5 vessels of Maersk and 5 vessels of the CMA CGM of 13.000 TEU
 The following port rotation are planed
Ningbo > Shanghai > Yantian > Tanjung Pelepas > Port Kelang > Le Havre > Hamburg > Rotterdam > Zeebrugge > Port Kelang> Singapore >Ningbo.
The first vessel will be CMA CGM Christophe Colomb
The schedule on 15-07-2010 Christophe Colomb arrive here at Rotterdam

CMA CGM have announced that on 22nd July they took delivery of the second 13,830teu "Explorer" class vessels "CMA CGM Amerigo Vespucci" she will shortly join the FAL 5 service.
