Former Wightlink ferry St Catherine
« on: August 01, 2010, 08:17:46 AM »
After a year of hibernation at Southampton, the former Wightlink ferry St. Catherine finally left here for Sardinia on 31st July 2010.
Newly painted in the colours of her new owners, Delcomar SRL, she is now named GB Conte.
I wish the crew well on their long voyage to Sardinia. Following the sale of the vessel, it has sat at Hythe all this time and I was surprised to note that no sea trials were carried out before setting off.
I don't know what the draft is but I would imagine it will be a shallow, possibly flat bottomed vessel. Interesting times ahead in the Bay of Biscay perhaps?
