got 3 hours in Hamburg - what to do?
« on: May 24, 2010, 11:41:28 AM »
I will have some free time in Hamburg on May 26th, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

What to do to make most of this time in terms of ship photography?...

At 2 p.m. I may be in the area of Ladungsbrucken...
despite using "polsteam" for my nick I have NO personal (professional) or business connections with the company of the same name

Hello polsteam

You can make a habour tour with the bigger tour ships. The ships will go into the Walterhofer Hafen with Eurogate on the rightside and Terminal Burchardkai on the leftside and also into Vorhafen with Terminal Tollerort and Bloom & Voss.

Or you can take the harbourferry 62 to Finkenwerder. You can leave at every station and can take pictures. The ferries leave every 15 minutes.

The roof of the Docklands building (ferry station Dockland) is a good place for photography.
From the ferry station Neumuehlen you have a good sight to the Athabaskakai of the Terminal Burchardkai.
I think the ferrystation Bubendeyufer is one of the best places for incoming or outgoing ships.

Harbourferries

Have a nice day at Hamburg!

Greetings Micha

Hello polsteam and Micha,

there's nothing more to add, only that Micha is right that Bubendey Ufer is one of the best places for incoming ships. Outbound I'd prefer R
