Chemical Tanker HECTOR
« on: May 10, 2010, 08:51:30 PM »
The Cambodian Registered Chemical tanker HECTOR lost propulsion off Cape Point, South Africa on Sunday 9th May in the afternoon
IMO NUMBER : 7921306
Callsign - XUAG3
Built - Japan, 1980
GRT - 3,491
DWT - 5,479

Can anyone point me in the direction of where I might find photos of this single hulled tanker as well as any previous names.

Thanks

Regards
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

You'd be jolly lucky to find any picture because I couldn't even find one on LRF. Previous names/nationalities: 1980 Snowhill, Cyprus - 1985 Senanque, Cuba - 2003 Venus, Panama - 2003 Senanove, Cambodia and 2008 Hector, Cambodia.

Brgds,
Robert.

Hi Rob,

Well thank you for answering and letting me know her previous names, at least this is a start.
Strange though isn't it, that there aren't any pictures of her anywhere given the fact that she has been around for 30 years!
Fingers crossed that someone might have one lucking on their hard drive.

Best Regards
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

You'd be surprised - Living in Rotterdam with abt. 30.000 port calls per annum I still find vessels of which no pictures exist. And it seems chemical tankers are not popular at all. Since I used to work in that trade, I'm probably the exception to the rule ....

Brgds,
Rob.
