« on: April 28, 2010, 01:00:19 AM »
This coming week see's the Tyne blessed with the visit of not one but two Geordie Gunboats.

Arriving 8.30am on Friday 30th April, Type 45 Destroyer, HMS Dauntless (D33) will be making her first visit to her affiliated city. Dauntless will be berthed at Northumbrian Quay and will be open to the public on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday (So say the BBC).

Dauntless departs 10am Tuesday 4th May, by which time, River Class Patrol Boat HMS Tyne (P281) will have arrived (7:20am).

HMS Tyne will be berthed at Spillers Quay.

If two warships wasnt enough, HMS Example (P165), Newcastle's resident P2000 is also on the river.
