California Mercury is scheduled for the scrapyard at the end of the year.

Earlier she was reported as due for demolition in June but it appears that has been put back.

Maersk are to add a fourth vessel to their  New Zealand coastal and Trans Tasman schedule, and will also be adding the port of Brisbane to the schedule. The vessel will be the JRS Pegasus. The only reference I can find to a ship of this name is now trading as CCL Moji, so not sure if it will be this vessel or not. Watch this space. :-)

The charter of HS Wagner has been extended and JPO Leo won't be returning any time soon.

The new addition to the Maersk Trans Tasman fleet is in fact the CCL Moji IMO 9387592, that will be renamed JRS Pegasus. She is a larger sister ship to Spirit of Endurance, that was also named CCL Moji.

Maersk Duffield is to be replaced by Maersk Dunbar at the end of September on the run to Singapore and Tanjung Pelepas. Maersk Damascus is to be replaced by Maersk Duncan.

The Maersk Duncan is to be chartered by MISC, before taking up her new schedule between NZ and Tanjung Pelepas and Singapore. She was to be renamed Bunga Raya Dua Belas, but this may now not happen.

The last vessel to be replaced on the Maersk South East Asia run is the Maersk Denton. She is to be replaced by Maersk Dabou. We will then have all the four 2005 built sisters trading out of Auckland, with a 4132teu capacity each.

Hi Stevie

Maersk have advised that Maersk Duncan will load under this name on her first NZ voyage. A lot of concern amongst exporters that while replacement vessels have same total capacity as the outgoing fleet, they can only carry 500 TEU reefers compared to 1,300 on the 4100's they replace.

Also master of JPO Leo believes now remaining on current Australian trade so possibly some other change to take place in this case.

Cheers

Brent

Hi All
I was surprise to see on Kiwi Car Carriers site the Saracen Star IMO 8217556 was due in Auckland on 3 September. According to Ship-Breaking.com publication #20 page 35 she was broken up in India in May 2010 getting a price of 405$ US per ton. Did the sale not go through and she was put back in service?
