I was able to have a quick look round Belfast Docks last week whilst working in Northern Ireland, it was dull and overcast which was a bonus compared to the rest of my cold and wet stay.
It was good to find that most of my known vantage points were still open to the public and not closed off for security reasons. The best vantage point are from Queens Island between the Musgrave Channel and the Victoria Channel. Driving up Queens Road there are a few good placed to stop and take photographs, one of them being next to the World War 1 light cruiser HMS CAROLINE dating from 1914, from here you have views along the Victoria Channel, further views can be had from other locations on the Queens Road. As you round the end of Queens Island by Harland & Wolff, you come to the Musgrave Channel were there are views of the berth there.
The third dock area is the Herdman Channel which I believe is completely enclosed with no vantage points, I
