All Leisure Group is expanding its fleet
« on: November 23, 2009, 09:52:17 PM »
British cruise operator All Leisure Group is expanding its fleet, having purchased the MV Alexander von Humboldt.

Built in 1990, the 250-cabin, 15,271 ton vessel was previously operated by Crown Cruise Line, Phoenix Reisen and Club Cruise.

Its former names have included Crown Monarch, Jules Verne and Walrus.

The ship was purchased at auction, and is set to undergo an upgrade before it enters service for the company.

All Leisure Group currently owns three ships, the Discovery, Minerva and Hebridean Princess.

Chairman of All Leisure Group Roger Allard commented: "We are always looking to expand our specialist small ship cruise fleet.

"This acquisition underpins the confidence that we have in the potential of our destination-led small ship niche cruise offering."

The company operates four different cruise brands: Voyages of Discovery, Discover Egypt, Swan Hellenic and Hebridean Island Cruises. It is not yet known which of these the newly-acquired ship will be joining.
regards Glencairn :-) :pint:
