CMA-CGM are in dispute with one of their financiers and, allegedly, are refusing to take delivery of some ships until the dispute is settled. Consequently, many of their ships that were due for delivery in July/Aug/Sep/Oct this year have not yet entered service. However, seeing as there now seems to be a firm sailing schedule for this particular ship, things may have moved on.

CMA CGM & MSC were in dispute with Korea's Eximbank over ship values and the bank was asking for more collateral on ordered ships which are now valued at less than loans given.

There are at least 3 CMA CGM vessels awaiting final delivery at Korean shipyards. The Christophe Colombe was the first of eight super-giants with a capaciy of 13,300 teu, which are the "Explorer class" the second in the series Amerigo Vespucci has also been ready for delivery for some time.
These vessels are very simular to the MSC Daniela class vessels ie the bridge & engine area of the vessels are seperated. so I hope they can finally be delivered and can be seen in Europe!!
One fact that may not be well known is that technically they will be the largest passenger carrying vessels afloat, although the Oasis of the Seas is the largest cruise ship, the "Explorer Class" vessels will have the ability to carry 10 passengers  which makes them the largest passenger carrying vessles afloat, although the experience will be very different!!

The other vessles in the class will be CMA CGM Marco Polo, Vasco de Gama, Amerigo Vespucci, Corte Real,La P
