viewing points in ports, worldwide...
« on: October 23, 2009, 08:18:29 AM »
Do you know of / have you been to any "purpose built" viewing areas, viewing points or platforms in any port around the world?...

Please, be so kind as to mention / describe such places.

Please, be also so kind as to provide information on examples of a port authority or terminal operating company caring for the needs of shipspotters and aiding the promotion of the ships and maritime matters among the general public in any form.

I am interested in ANY such initiatives from the largest (visitors' centres with educational exhibitions on ships and pots) to smallest ones (informative boards on ships or port installed in the pedestrian/walking areas along waterways with sea-going ships (such as Kiel Canal or Nieuwe Waterweg) or at "purpose built" or "natural" viewing points)...

The questions and enquiries above might be put in context of the following:

In advance - great many thanks for any information contribution (maybe you also have some photographs of various purpose built viewing points / platforms in ports)....

Peter
despite using "polsteam" for my nick I have NO personal (professional) or business connections with the company of the same name

Not sure if this link will work, but give it a try?
