I read in the Dutch transport/shipping newspaper that Evergreen will withdraw 31 ships from their fleet.
It's regarding 20xG-types (2868 TEU) and 11xGx-types (3428 TEU).
12 G-types are now owned by Greek owners, whereof 2 already sold for scrapping (Iason -ex Ever Grand- and Scotland -ex Ever Globe-). The remaining ships are still under Evergreen charter, but they will not extend their charter when they expire.
3 of the the remaining G-types which are owned by Evergreen, the Ever Golden, Ever Gentry and Ever Gleamy, were already sold to breakers.
Evergreen still owns 7 of the 11 Gx-types, the remaining 4 are owned by the Greeks. None of them were sold for scrapping yet, but planned in the near future.
Those 31 ships represents 15% (95.000 TEU) of the total fleet, one the scrapping plan has been finalized, Evergreen has the same size as the number 5, APL.
