Hi,
have a look at my earlier post in this topic:

http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=6078&forum=2&viewmode=flat&order=ASC&start=0

She is employed on MSC's Jade service, which does not call at any northern European ports, the port rotation can be found on the link below:

I do not know why they are not doing that anymore, someone more technical knowledgeable might be able to answer this question.
However, they have tried that, and namely that was Burmeister & Wain, from Copenhagen with their two ships "Jutlandia" and "Selandia" built 1972.

Ship's data is:
Jutlandia (1972)
Built: Burmeister & Wain, Copenhagen (Yard No. 846, delivered 28/12/72)
Selandia (Yard No. 845. Delivered September 18th. 1972)
Tonnage: 34180 (34730?) dwt., 49890 gt.
LOA: 247.32 m
LBP: 257.60 m
Beam: 32.25 (32.31?) m
Draught: 11.93 m
Container capacity: 2272 TEU
Diesel: Triple screw. 3 pc. B&W 2-stroke cross head diesel engines type = K84EF. One 12 cyl. center engine connected to a CP propeller and two = outboard 9 cyl. engines each connected to a de-clutchable fixed = propeller. 82500 IHP / 75000 BHP. Service speed 28 knots.
Sold 1994 to USA and converted for the US Military Sealift Command. Re-flagged and re-named USNS Gordon 1998.

OK, I see this topic is now instead of going right into the future (which MSC Daniela does, for sure) go backwards to the past, so sorry for mentioning the two old triple-screwed buckets

Interesting thread about container ship design which Cornelia started here.

The two Danish built ships had an "older" Swedish sister, NIHON (IMO 7214624), built by Oresundsvarvet, Landskrona, for the Swedish East Asiatic Co. and delivered 17 May 1972 (1993: Ladby Maersk, 1995: Ladby, 1996: MSC Carla, 1997: broke into two in the Atlantic). Photos on this site.
Possibly also a Norwegian sister (?).

Selandia (III) achieved 31.5 knots on sea trials, and made the first trip around the world at an record average speed of 28.04 knots (total sailing time 40 days, 3 hours, and 5 minutes !). The cost was serious damage to the bow structure and 2 months subsequent at the repair yard.

Cornelia refers to these ships as "old buckets". However, these ships were the E-class and the MSC Daniela-class of their time, so a little more respect
and the proper context for these icon-ships, please, Cornelia :-)

A important thing that I noted is that this design will need less water ballast. Probably this arrangement gives more stability for the vessel, due a better weight distribution (almost 50% - 50%, like sport cars) This is important because of the contamined water ballast traveling from port to port, causing many problems to the environment of the port where the water is discharged. Also, the vessel has been designed to use ballast treatment.

I don't think she is ugly, it is just - an aquired taste  :-D

I think the thing is that people are just not use to this new design, it is quite different from what we are used to seeing, so like most new things, the initial impression "MY GOD that is ugly", but as you get used to the design, the impression turns from ugly to different...
