Cleveland Amory/ Thomas Carleton
« on: February 13, 2009, 02:17:20 AM »
The Canadian government buoy tender Thomas Carleton (IMO#5359171), 1241GT, 1960.
Decommissioned 1991, renamed "1003", sold 1993 renamed (briefly) Aurora Explorer, then renamed Cleveland Amory when purchased by Orcaforce/ Sea Shepherd Society.
Used in 1993 to protest over-fishing on Grand Banks.
Detained St. John's Newfoundland, sold (with engine problems), renamed Hawkeye Express.
I recently saw a photo on a Lloyd's/Fairplay site showing her badly damaged, possibly burnt out, aground on a beach.
Does anyone have details on her fate after 1993.
