Latvian Tanker 'Lielupe', IMO: 7605847

Hi,
I was just updating my database and noticed on the Latvian Shipping Companies website that she is no longer in the fleet, in fact no mention of her at all. Equasis also has no info on her anymore, which leads me to believe she has been beached. Shipspotting member Polarbear caught her North bound in Istanbul somewhere around May 10, 2006, perhaps her last voyage? Anyone have any further info?

Hello Matt!

You're indeed right, Cotzias reports her as being sold for scrap to Chittagong in July 2006, at $393 / LDT (she was 11.426 LDT).

Thanks for the sad news, I was afraid that was the case. I think she was only my second post-seaway size tanker at the time.
