Kelvin,

her movements are indeed very strange, she arrived Hamburg earlier today as was watching hr on AIS, VTS nos has her showing due 101 berth sometime on 18th?

However not the only strange vessel movement, Marit Maersk arrived in Southampton from Rotterdam on friday only to sail for Hamburg? she has now left hamburg on her way to Malaga.

what on earth is going on!!

Andy,

All I can say is try confused.com!
I see Caedmon is still appearing as regular candidate for departure; 17th TBA, destination "world" is the latest offering!

From 'Ferries of Northern Europe'

The Caedmon is derelict for now, a ghostship. She isn't scheduled to go anywhere soon...

Just a glitch in the VTS System, I think

Andy,
Norasia Bellatrix left Hamburg this morning, allegedly for Southampton 11:00 tomorrow.
Next question has to be; why would a container ship be heading for 101 berth?

Kelvin,

well the strange case of this vessel continues!

firstly someone better tell vts as she is not showing on arrivals for tomorrow, there have been rumours for a while that Zodiac would lay up a container vessel after he Waterford sailed so she would be heading for 101 berth for lay up as she is not on any service that calls at Southampton.

think ill keep tomorrow free should she actually decide to call!!

I can confirm Norasia Bellatrix has been anchored off Torbay for a couple of days. Very light ship.

The Stena Discovery is laid up in Belfast (has been for about two years). The Stena Transporter will be laid on the 1st March, possibly in Rotterdam, thou I'm not sure where.

I heard that the MCA inspectors have been onboard the bulk carrier ANTALINA (IMO 8314794) at the sugar refinery at North Woolwich, They found so much wrong they had to go back the next day to complete the inspection. Another candidate for Tilbury dock I suppose  :-(

Is Lyme Bay about to receive another "guest"?
This morning, the tug Eurosund IMO IMO 7719698 is passing south of Selsey at a nice gentle 3 knots. Unless they are rowing, I presume this speed might indicate they are towing something. Destination is shown as Lyme Bay, 06:00 1st March.
Meanwhile, something my be stirring in Southampton with Broadgate showing up on the daprtures schedule for tomorrow, destination "World".
The vehicle carriers Western Highway and Eastern Highway have been anchored at the Nab anchorage for around 2 weeks now.

Well the good old lady seems to have found a higher gear as AIS tells me she is doing over 9 knots as she comes abeam of St Catherines.(1415)..unless she has found some very strong following tide.
Could it be that she is towing some Gear for the final assault on the remains of the 'Napoli' (i think the new contactors are due to start soon.

It is quite possible that this is what is going on.
Last month it was announced that a new company, Global Response Maritime will be taking on the job.
They are sending a crane barge, Anna, and a couple of large flat-topped barges equipped with cranes etc.
