Blanca Del Mar
« on: October 16, 2008, 03:52:46 PM »
Hi,

I just saw this picture of the Blanca Del Mar in the Ferries section of the website.
It seems that she is off anchor at Gibraltar and her hull markings have been painted out.

Does anyone know what will happen to her now that she has completed her charter with Iscomar.
There were some rumours about her returning to the Channel but nothing has materialised so far.

Regards

Hi Cedric

Found this snippet @
http://www.baltic-course.com/eng/transport/?doc=6155

Port of Liepaja shipping company Terrabalt director Jurijs Solovjovs confirmed to LETA that a protocol of intent on the plans to open the new ferry line has already been signed. However, he said, more detailed information will only be provided after an official contract is signed.

According to an announcement in the government's officials newspaper Latvijas Vestnesis, the cargo-passenger ferry "Blanca Del Mar", operated by the company AVE Logistics, will effectuate Liepaja-Traveminde route starting from November 4 this year, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

The vessel will be passenger-cargo with capacity to carry 400 passengers.

Regards

Indeed she will be trading Travemuende / Liepaja and vv for AVE Logistics.
For all Ferry maniacs - she will be at Holtenau Locks (Kiel Canal) today 13.11.2008 at about 11:00 am local
