Norwegian Dream after collision
« on: July 12, 2008, 09:23:21 PM »
Hello,
I found very interesting reportage about the collision of Norwegian Dream vs two barges at Montevideo (09.12.2007).

The shots were taken by some passenger a few minutes after collision!

Hi Matt,
I have seen your photo - very nice.
I think the photos which took this passenger, shows only provisional repairs.
I don't know, if she was drydocked, but I'm afraid, that the bulb was hit too.

Best regards,
Mark.

Do boats carry 'spare plates' to cover up holes such as occured to the Norwegian Dream, since the comments about the photos taken of the incident state that they were in Montevideo for 3 days in which time the hole was sealed over and repainted - this seems extremely quick to get two pieces of metal plate remoulded into the shape of the bow and then welded on, and repainted?

The comments on those page about the photos were witten by the author of these shots.
I think the operator of Norwegian Dream tried to make repairs very quickly, because the ship had the passengers and
some plan of travel.

Regards,
Mark.
