ROLNIK IS SOLD

Hello,

It is grievous message for me, that ROLNIK (Polsteam) - IMO 7361544 is sold.
The buyer is Italian Owner PALSTEK SHIPPING Inc.
The new name of her is:  ROLN.

Something remains after Rolnik in her new name!

ROLNIK (ROLN) is in the drydock of  GSR at Gdańsk now.
After 7-10 days she will start to her new life.
The new captain and crew is Polish, but not from Polsteam.

Rolnik was the oldest vessel in Polsteam fleet, built in 1975 in Schlichting Werft in Travemunde (Germany).  
She has more than 600 cruises in Polsteam from 1975 to 2008 and I think she is in very good condition.
I hope she will work more years.

I was first time on Rolnik at 1976 and I know her perfectly. SHe was my first ship.
I have dismissed ROLNIK yesterday and probably I will have no more chance to stay on her deck and to see this vessel.

I HAVE A GREAT REQUEST TO YOU. If you will see ROLN anywhere, please take a shot of her and post on the shipspotting.
It is very important for me.

Hi Mark, when you see her leaving Gdansk and you know where she is bound for (passing Kiel Canal or not) give me a notice. If it's daylight I will wait for her.

the ship left the repair yard under new ownership and name but with previous owner's funnel mark remaining

meanwhile ROLN has already its funnel repainted (into dark blue) AFTER it left shipyard (repainting by crew)

the ship is about to depart from Gdansk this evening / night (19 June).

have just seen ROLN has passed Fehmarnsund westbound and is actually (0815hrs german time) about 35 miles away from the entrance of Kiel Kanal at a speed of 9 knots. So if no delays occur, she should enter the locks between 1100hrs and 1200hrs.
