Another Color-linevessel bites the dust

The mighty "Prinsesse Ragnhild" is up for sale, according to the Norwegian tabloid VG. She sails between Oslo and Hirtshals, and the reason for the closure is that... Not a big shock, she does not earn enough money. She was recently transfered from the route Bergen-Stavanger-Hirtshals.
Sad stuff, first Color festival, then Peter Wessel, and now, the grand old lady:
Prinsesse Ragnhild. Bummer!

Sad news, but a little bit expected because of her failures of last years.
Color Line will only go into the future with new ships!
The Superspeed ones and the Big CruiseFerry's.
What will happen with Bohus and the other old ones. Sad stuff...
I hope Color Line does not have financial problems. :-(

I've heard that COLOR FESTIVAL was sold before PRINSESSE RAGNHILD because the route wasn't doing well and because the FESTIVAL was easier to sell. Apparently the RAGNHILD is way overvalued financially in the Color line's accounting records, so they would have to take a big loss on the RAGNHILD when they sell her. And her mechanical troubles and several small fires aboard are well known of course...

Wouldn't she be a nice vessel for people like COTUNAV???

You both have some good points. I am quite sure that she will follow in Peter Wessels eh... Footprints, and end up in the med. Have lots of nice memories from this ship, and must see if i can have a trip with her before its to late.

Hi,

it's a sad thing that the Ragnhild is to go as well, she was high up my "want to see" list.
I'm more stunned that they are going to close the route as well, I was sort of hoping on a third vessel similar to the Fantasy and Magic.
