Just imagine though...in the States if you did that you'd be locked in jail for years and labeled a terrorist.

Hopefully they'll do it to an american vessel, then they'll get what they deserve (shot possibly?). I just hope they didnt ruin it for us boatnerds who take photo from personal crafts.

Thanks for posting the link to the video Matt!  That was quite something.  Wonder why everyone, to include the authorities, were so passive and let them board and do their thing?
My blog with narrative and more photos is located at:

read the introduction and also there are about 5 different blogs of ships and railroads

I've seen these guys in action before, and  most of the time what they do is pretty safe.

Better these guys than some of the more reckless groups that trade in the same currency.

As long as they don't they don't pose a threat to themselves or others I say let them protest to their hearts content. We need to hear different opinions at times.

When they cross the line; sure, intervene!, but that often causes more 'noise'.

CTV got it wrong  too, the Arctic Sunrise is not a former icebreaker, but an ex Norwegian Sealer. A little fittng don't you think.  :-)

If their actions bring attention to global warming, then I say go for it.

I think it's a good thing what they are doing, although going bonkers on a ship is a little over the edge. However, it may be the only thing that will get something done! I would like to see an Algo ship come to Halifax Harbour with "No Coal, no nuclear - clean energy" painted on it.

Well sometimes these guys decide to go swimming in front of ships.....

Then it's time to save them....from themselves :-P

They didn't...she delayed the McCarthy Jr. outside of Erie and I managed to get some fantastic shots of her; no one said a word.

You weren't kidding- in the US, if anyone comes over the side without permission, it's considered piracy, not trespassing.

Now, who on board was assigned to babysit those folks-who-obviously-weren't-at-work? Some poor slob who probably needed to sleep... Great protest. The only ones hurt by it are the sailors.

Hear, hear Pirates belong in Hollywood, not interfearing with merchant seamen trying to make a living, they should direct thir attention to the appropriate shareholders and board members of these polluters. It's not the vessel, the coal, or these seamen ,its the antiquanted furnaces and smoke handling systems of the polluting plant feeding Ontario's citizens their electrics, while the owners get rich. Capnken.
