Tyne Visit of the Semi-Submersible rig

This Navigation Notice was issued today by the Port of Tyne Authority:

Nice one Ellwood, the reason they come in at low tide is that there is very little movement of water at this time of the tide , also it is a neap tide I beleive which reduces the tidal movement even to a lesser extent.

Thanks for linking to my picture ;-).
You mentiond that two harbour tugs will be assisting it the manouvers. That probably explains why Teesport tug, Svitzer Maltby is docked up at the Tyne, (according to AISlive).

The Svitzer Maltby has been based up here for a few months now - largest Tug on the Tyne  :-o

Yes, I spotted that early this morning. Notice the "Firm" time for arrival is 12.45.
