Yes, thank goodness he is back.  It is bad enough to go through the winter without our lake traffic but to have the Welland Canal open and not have Michel and Vedran posting the photos is unthinkable.  If only we could clone those two and put them at Port Huron, the SOO Locks and Duluth.  Then life would be good.

read the introduction and also there are about 5 different blogs of ships and railroads

There are occasional postings from those locations on boatnerd.com but not alot and sometimes the quality is lacking.  With the Welland Canal you basically see what goes through there, even at night.

It is good to have the Lakers and Salties back although I gather ice is still a problem in many areas including the Welland Canal.

We also must not forget that all this photo taking is mostly all a 'hobby' and we should be thankful that we get shots no matter what the quality. I know I would not even think of critisizing photos from whatever area. Also, we must be careful in how we edit our messages on the site(s). Writing is not like voicing in sound and can be interpreted as negative if the wording is confusing.
For my part, I am thankful in seeing photos from wherever along the Seaway or the Lakes and the Lakehead from whoever has the time to go out and 'spot' a ship.

Regards,
Laurent
