Jumbo Challenger drops load

M/V Jumbo Challenger was unloading a 638 ton steel pressure vessel for an oil refinery in the Port of Los Angeles when  a cable snapped, dropping the load to the pier suddenly.  The sudden removal of the weight from the ship caused her to heel sharply to starboard, as she was ballasted to offset the weight of the load being transferred over the port side.  More information and pictures here:
